    Hi fapstronauts,

In my job, I have to work at my office. But most of the time I stay alone in my office. Recently, I developed this very bad habit to "just take a look of what's new in porn websites" when I don't have much to do. 5 minutes become 2 hours and I just go to the restroom to masturbate and get it out of my system. Don't judge and try to help please.

Do you have any advice on how to stay focused on your job in front of the computer even if you are alone? Thank you very much.

    Yours,

  2. to quit you have to be in the right mindset, you need to be commited and ready to quit, easier said than done i know. Ask yourself why do i want to quit and how ready am i to quit, unless you are 100% committed and ready than you will fail, its going to take genuine effort and i real desire to better and change yourself. Dont go into it half dedicated, if you go off on a journey on a horse with a broken leg, than you wont get very far, so before you start really get your mind in the right place, make sure that horse is healthy and ready for the trip.

Honestly i stopped pmo even if i'm in front of a screen most of the day.

Maybe you have to touch the bottom to have enough motivation, i don't know.

I can understand what you mean. It's actually a rather common issue so reat assured- nobody is judging you :)

Perhaps the most obvious remedy to this scenario is to install a porn blocker, but I have always considered that method to be a pseudo-solution; after all, nofap is a lifestyle one must adapt. Porn blockers can only go so far in curbing this habit; the will to stop must be inculcated thoroughly in the person. All the same, I believe that using the blockers is an acceptable crutch in the early steps of your journey.

Another tip I might like to point out is to ask your workstation to be shifted to face a door. Nothing is as big a deterrent as the constant panic that someone may walk in at any moment (even if you are sure the place is empty, unexpected events happen more often than one would think). It is also a constant reminder that this habit is nothing but a purge in society. Just picture how people will react if they catch you :(

Yet another thing you can do is to go in the settings of your PC, set the speaker volume to full and permanently disable all controls for the speakers, meaning it cannot be changed without a system restore back in time. The only issue then will be resisting the urge to bring headphones to work :) You'll need to dig around for this because I can't find a tutorial on this. Actually, i discovered this trick by accident one day. The next time I use my PC, I'll let you know the exact protocol :)

Lastly, the best and most foolproof solution to this problem is self-control. No other way for me to say it. Realise where this habit has lead you and the path to hating PMO becomes much easier. Unless you truly want to stop, nothing can help you.

    Good luck.
    :)

Fortunately, not everyone needs to go that deep in order to open their eyes. I certainly wouldn't call this advice to give to anyone.

That was not actually an advice, it was more of a warning.

What if you made the choice to get into a sport and look up how to play basketball or soccer? What if you made the choice to get into art instead? What if you made the choice to play crossword puzzles? What if you made the choice to use that time to start a blog about birds? The possibilities to solve this are endless.

Thank you guys for the advice.

My workstation already faces the door, I did it first to overcome my addiction to YouTube. I did also the thing with the speaker. But I usually work late after everybody is gone ... I deactivate the sound from the porn website ... I practice a lot of soccer, and even at my office, sometimes I do push-ups just to think about something else, but I always find myself watching porn at the end of the day. It's pissing me off and I don't understand each time how I got into it. Maybe I just need to keep trying and develop a strong self-control. I'm not going to give up. Thanks again.

Its hard i think,,,, because that places are always use to watch porn, everytime you in that room your brain will told you to do porn.

If i can suggest try to ask your boss to relocate your work station or maybe you can block the cause of porn like installing blue coat apps, block website and social media that will drive u to porn. Ask friends to make the password for unblocking it. And ask that friends to never told that apps password except when your friends are there with u. Watching u

Yeah no shit you still watch porn at the end of the day, it's a strong habit to break and you don't yet have a good coping mechanism for lonliness. Develop a night time routine. Buy an essential oil diffuser, Get some candles, read a book, meditate, think about your day and all the tiny victories you had, think about a few good things you are going to do tomorrow that are fun. It's all about dealing with lonliness in a positive way. It's an emotion that we all have been told is bad and should be shameful, but in reality it's just an emotion and one that needs strong coping mechanisms. Best of luck my man, you got this.

You could do things like keep your door open and shift your desk/computer so that there's no way to hide.
