so i started nofap for 9 days and on the 10th I relapsed (fapped only once, no binge), afterwards I continued NoFap and now I’m on my 9th day again. I was just wondering, about when will I feel those superpowers because currently, I’m still not feeling much changes. Instead, I feel more anxious and worried most of the times and I still am really socially awkward especially with girls. So I just need a gauge to tell when will I feel a positive change to myself. Thank you.

  2. No superpowers to be gained by nofap. Maybe a bit more sanity and energy, hard erections if you are lucky.
Try the radioactive spiders instead for superpowers.

Added anxiety is considered a withdrawal symptom. It should go down eventually.
However, I hope you didn't get into this reboot for the "super powers". "Super powers" don't necessarily happen, especially if you were already socially awkward before starting to PMO.
And you may very well start to feel depressed for long periods- those are all of the negative emotions that you pushed away by choosing a temporary solution: PMOing, and now they're all tumbling back.

Ok tysm for ur reply, I got into nofap partly for the superpowers (mainly more confidence) and also partly to have more energy and motivation to get shit done. I didn’t really see my PMOing as an addiction only until I started nofap when I keep having all these urges. But yeah I hope all the withdrawal symptoms I’m facing will die down and I can finally reap the benefits of nofap. And also I’m not very socially awkward, it’s only at some situations where I cannot seem to talk well with ppl, especially girls because I’m quite insecure about myself, so I don’t really know if this is a problem of my own or having nofap can help me boost my confidence which in turn helps me to talk better with ppl.

I still don't understand how you got to this in the first place, but in any case, going ahead with the reboot should make you feel better about yourself, which in turn will make you more confident.
I just saw a nice idea that said that whenever you're about to go into a problematic social situation, write down and read a list of awesome things you did in life or situations where you were at your best/did/said things you never thought you'd do/say.

What you're really asking here is "how can I become a better person without actually facing adversity, taking risks, challenging my comfort zone, failing, making mistakes, getting rejected, dealing with negative experiences, and putting in the work to develop myself."

It's a nice thought to have that your social anxiety problems will just disappear on its own just by doing nofap, but that's a fantasy. A fantasy that people who have conditioned themselves to seek easy and certain instant gratification want to believe.

You don't fix a problem by escaping it like you did with porn and the way you're doing now with nofap. The whole point of nofap is getting rid of toxic habits in order to create room in your life to face your problems. I bet the superpower nofap youtube videos forgot to mention that.

Good to see most posters pushing back against this 'superpowers' bullshit. It gives the whole community a bad name.

Don't call them superpowers. It makes us sound like a cult.

NoFap won't give you 'superpowers' as such. However, putting the time you waste on PMO into something more productive can only be positive. Even if it's only stepping out your front door and getting some sunlight and fresh air, you're naturally going to feel better than if you spent it in a darkened room staring at a screen, looking at porn.

Not everyone gets 'super powers'. A lot of people get many major benefits. Some of the benefits seem very localized to porn and their sex life.

I do get 'superpowers' that aren't placebo. There are many neurochemical and hormonal reasons we get benefits. Not just temporary testosterone boost or dopamine benefits. But others neuro chemicals as well.

I give u an easy example.

This is called the winner effect, not sure if im allowed to post links but i will quote it.

“WINNING INCREASES THE DOPAMINE RECEPTORS IN THE BRAIN, WHICH MAKES YOU SMARTER AND MORE BOLD” – IAN H. ROBERTSON

There is a very interesting phenomenon in biology that I want to link to gamification, called “the winner effect.” When an animal, be it fish or human, wins a contest, there is a large release of testosterone and dopamine into their brain. Over time this changes their brains structure and chemical makeup, making them smarter, more confident and able to take on larger challenges than before. Cognitive neuroscientist Ian Robertson explains that “success and failure shapes us more powerfully than genetics and drugs.” Nurture changes nature.

    ~

Consider NoFap a game or hierarchy. The goal is to break addiction, improve your life and possibly have a better relationship and sex life. This is a huge game when u consider all the things your sex life and possible porn addiction affect. Or how much time u spend on it. If you begin winning at that game (get major streaks) regardless of the contraversial idea of superpowers you will get benefits.

Not just from winning the game but doing a challenge with other males increase ur testosterone and by design u will get back things u have lost from addiction / dopamine abuse and these things translate in a lot of ways to female attraction.

BUT the super powers are not the goal or immediate. Lets say you start running. Side effects of running may be weight loss , endurance, stress management etc. But is that the goal? What about to just be a really fast and good runner?
Will every runner lose weight? It depends on other variables. Would every runner destress? Maybe. Point is first focus on the point of the game. Win at a large streak. Win at making the improvements we all make in life. Then your brain , body AND REALITY ITSELF. Will give u superpowers.

Superpowers are not necessarily supernatural. They are just super if u put urself in a position to access it.

I'm well aware that I'm going to get a lot of shit for this comment, but I really don't believe in superpowers in general, and I certainly don't believe NoFap will give you superpowers. There are no guarantees that NoFap will make your muscles grow, make your voice deeper, make your hair grow back, or make you more attractive to women. There are certainly benefits to doing NoFap, but I don't think there's any guarantee of physical, bodily changes. The benefits for me have been highly personal and mostly psychological, and they take a long time before you really start to notice them. Like I said, I've been clean for well over 200 days now and I'm still recovering. I still have a long way to go and, in some ways, my journey is still just beginning.

I have one piece of advice for you: patience. These things take time. I'll leave you with two points:
    1. Recovery takes a very long time, especially if you've been using porn for a long time. I used porn habitually (just about every day) for about ten years straight, and I've been clean from porn for only around 260 days. That's not even 1/10th of the time I spent using porn. In other words: being clean from porn is still a relatively new development in my life at this point.
    2. Recovery is a process, not a moment in time. There is no moment where you wake up one day and realize "I'm all better now!" I hate to break it to you, but it just doesn't work that way. There are going to be lots of ups and downs in your recovery. There are going to be some days where you wake up, you don't feel like watching porn at all, you have a fantastic day full of self-improvement and self-love, but then the next day is complete shit, where you feel like you're just urge-surfing the entire day. Recovery is not such a black-and-white thing. It's not about reaching a specific point where you achieve clarity, health, and grace. It's about accepting and loving yourself.
Don't do NoFap because you think it will give you some sort of superpowers. That's a bunch of bullocks. Do NoFap because you deserve to be free from PMO. You owe it to yourself. Do it because a life without porn is a life of freedom.

This well expresses my view: superpowers is a bunch of bollocks. It is a lame attempt to attract people to the site.
