Hello everyone, new to the NoFap arena, but have had some serious interest in doing it. I usually don't frequent forums at all, especially post, but cold turkey wasn't really helping, so here I am!

So, basically, I've had a couple relationships fall apart because of porn addiction, and I hate that something can have such tight grip (heh) on me.

A small intro, but I'm hoping to better myself by hanging out with you fine folk.

    1. WHY do you want to quit porn and masturbation? What is the big reason—and is it big enough? Are you going to give some general reason and then just forget about it? Or are you going to have something specific, and start reminding yourself of that reason multiple times every day?
    2. WHERE and WHEN do your urges or temptations come from? Certain places? Certain times of day? When you’re alone on the computer? Are you going to pray to resist, but then let yourself stay in all kinds of bad situations? Or are you going to anticipate and avoid these situations, or at least prepare your mind if you can’t avoid them?
    3. WHAT are your actions like? Is there anything you’re doing that makes you more vulnerable? Anything that you could be doing more of that would make you stronger? Anything that, when you are tempted, you could turn to instead as something more productive and fulfilling?

    1. I have plenty of reasons why I want to quit. I've been browsing pornography for roughly 3/4 of my life, I've skipped on plenty amazing experiences just to jack it. I've wasted too much of my life on this bullshit. I've already developed disorders and I haven't even hit fucking 30 yet.
    2. There are many triggers I suppose, sometimes I'm not even sure where or how the urge will develop at a specific moment, it just happens.
    3. I feel I just need to improve my mind, if that makes sense. A lot of different things I could do to better myself in multiple ways, and I'm trying them all. From becoming more sociable to counter introvertness that porn has caused me, or reading more to expand the mind that porn has depressed, or even just physical improvement just cause sitting in a chair and jacking does nothing for my life.

Let's start today. It's never to early or too late to quit. No one is counting on you to do it except yourself. Start doing those things to better yourself, start finding ways to avoid temptation. If you relapse, get back up and keep fighting. There are no excuses, no good reason to go back, and every good reason to be free of it. Let's do it!

I definitely agree with you dude. There really is no reason to go back, and to go back is just denial of the future. I can quit cigarettes, so I should, in theory, be able to quit porn. I feel I can do it, I have a lady friend who deserves my full attention. My last relationship failed slightly because of my addiction (other reasons too, but I won't get into that).
