Self destructive behaviour

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Sep 27, 2018.

  1. I hope someone can relate to this and give me some advice.
I have a self destructive behaviour.
I spent hours in everything without thinking consequences. For example : if I watch movies then that entire day I will watch it similar in the case of video games and porn . I just don't control anything and I think it's the biggest reason I can't control my porn.

Have you ever experienced this if yes how did you go through this

  3. Well my problem is I can't control or limit diido things. Just say I am a smoker ( I am not ) then I may probably end up smoking 5-8 ciggaatte a day. I hope you understand what I mean. S

I've had such experience too. I go on a long spree committing to spend my time productively for may be 2 or 3 weeks and end up binging on youtube or movies or tv shows or just browsing the web on random topic. I attend AA meetings quite regularly and heard a senior member problem in the second leg of her 50s say that she binged on some Netflix series for more then 13 hours straight. It is quite a harmful behavior but you're still pretty young and being aware of is it good. Hope you find ways to make it out of it, goals and planning really help. I was most productive when I put stuff some todolist app on the phone and tried to commit to it. Doing at least half of what was on that list left me feeling productive. Good luck to you brother.

  6. There are two wolves inside you. I think you have heard it. And in your case, by all your posts I can see that you are feeding the wrong wolf. You want self validation and justification. You ignore people who give good advice to you by repeating your rhetoric 'I have no control'. Whom are you bullshitting? Others or your own self? Instead of repeating 'I can improve' you are chanting 'I can't and won't improve' all day long. You don't seem to take responsibility well. The responsibility of watching porn is yours and will always be under your control no matter what you say. You can say 'I wanna give up but at the same time I don't want to stop' and this will be an honest answer to the situation you are in. But playing the powerless primadonnaa is flat out dishonoring your own self. I hope you won't ignore this message and learn to be accountable for your bad habits as well as good ones.
