I seem to have these 4 things in my life that are continually dragging me down and altering my grip on reality. I chain smoked for about 2 years because my job as a delivery driver allowed me to smoke whenever I pleased, as the job was very stressful and demanding i would smoke almost constantly.
Now I'm no longer in this job I don't smoke nearly as much but PMO has increased greatly and I am feeling really disgusted with my lifestyle, I PMO maybe 3-10 times a day, do very little exercise due to a broken arm, smoke weed every night to get to sleep and eat crap food everyday.

I want to change and I have been using all of these things to cope stress, depression, anxiety I just wanted to get something out there and hear some ideas on how to set myself onto a new clean life.

Would like to know if writing a recount of everything thats lead to being in this state is a useful tool. thanks guys:)

In my journey I have experienced that when you quit one addiction , the others soon follow. I started eight months ago to quit smoking cigarettes and marijuana simultaneously (smoked 3-5 joints daily for period of 6 years). If you really feel strongly about improving your life for the better, it may be an idea to start here. My advice is to first remove marijuana from your life, given you only smoke at night, this should not be tremendously difficult. But you will wake up so much clearer and you will have an enormous energy boost, and you will start looking at your life in a completely new manner. Many people underestimate marijuana, barely any people acknowledged my addiction when I was overcoming it.

Then, you will start to notice you have increased drive to get rid of the other addictions too. A possible scenario would be this: the excessive energy in the morning gets you to do 10 pushups each morning and to drink a full glass of water. As you start to exercise more, you feel that junk food is only making you feel worse, and you need some real healthy food. So you might start with 1 healthy meal a day, at least a piece of fruit and vegetables everyday. Instead of meat, try fish.

Habits are coupled - intertwined in your brain so to say. When you observe your own life, you will see that there are periods of the day where you light up every day. After dinner, with coffee, first thing in the morning, when you are on the phone. As you start to remove habits, the other habits will tumble along with it. So I would advise you to think of this as a Jenga tower. Carefully plan the destruction of this tower. Decide which block you are going to take out first. The tower will be unstable now. When you take another block out, the tower is weak and so on.

Be very careful to REPLACE the habit by a HEALTHY habit. I have tried to quit marijuana for over 50 times in my life, but I never replaced it by something new. This emptiness will invariably get you back to your old habits, for the reason that you feel that your identity is gone. This can be very scary in removing large destructive habits.

    Just my two cents.
