I keep feeling like I got it under control and then due to not being able to sleep around the 2nd week mark and realizing that the only way I can go to sleep is by watching P and screwing it all up again. Why is it all freaking here at this point? If I could just go to sleep and not be so wired up I could wake up and not feel so anxious to watch P and relapse. Any suggestions on supplements I could take to put me to sleep even with all that excess energy built up around the 2nd week mark? I once made it passed the 2nd week to victory but then relapse anyway for the neck of it, been on a binge for a year since. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi!
It’s interesting to see how I’m in the same exact situation as you: I get to about 2 weeks, can’t sleep and relapse.
Since you’re binging, start again slowly. Don’t worry too much about the streak, try to get some days in. If you made it to 2 weeks before, you will reach it again for sure!

First, I recommend you to try getting tired during the day. Try working out! Any activity is fine as it will help you fall asleep!
If you’re anxious, I recommend meditation a lot, or any other activity that helps you relax (reading a book might also help). If you still can’t fall asleep, try to get up and do anything! It might seem strange, but staying in bed could be worse: you probably wouldn’t fall asleep anyway, and you’re more at risk of relapsing, so find something to do for a while (nothing too intensive or long) and only then try going to sleep.
I know, it’s hard. I believe we can’t complete the challenge without creating good habits, but that’s also why NoFap is good! We might get into the habit of meditating and working out as a side effect!

Let’s start making a long streak again, little by little. I’m sure you can make it!

Last Relapse has just given a lot of great advise. Spend about an hour away from a screen (TV, Computer) before going to bed, I read somewhere that if you go to bed right after watching something then your mind is still working away and it's harder to fall asleep. The said try reading before sleeping to wind you mind down.

If you do find yourself unable to sleep then I would stay off the computer, my own personal experience is temptation is stronger the closer I am to giving into it.

I definitely agree with gamerball77 on avoiding screens at night: your sleep quality in general decreases if you’re looking at them at certain hours, you could get eye strain and temptation is definitely stronger when you have a device in your room.

A porn blocker can also help a lot, especially in the beginning: on a Windows/Mac computer I really recommend K9 Web Protection, on Mac/iPhone the integrated restrictions are also pretty good. I got to the point once where I disabled my web browser on iOS completely, and I reached for my phone many times (especially at night) only to realize that I couldn’t search P even if I wanted. That saved me many times.
It definitely can help (at least in the short term) if you set it up correctly. Of course, if you really want to relapse nothing can stop you, and that’s the limit of the blockers. You still have to put effort, but it might be easier!

So, find some things to do “offline”. Reading is a pretty safe bet (of course avoiding explicit material). You can also try studying (if you’re a student). Showers and working out are great, but they tend to make you more awake and can trigger urges; however, it’s still better than laying in bed for hours trying to fall asleep (and trust me, I know what it’s like) or relapsing.
I’d recommend using your phone only if you have restrictions enabled and have absolutely no way of accessing P. But I believe it’s still better to avoid it for the reasons mentioned (screen messing up with sleep quality).

Great advice Lastrelapse and thanks gamerball77. I guess incorporating some exercise into my schedule wouldn't hurt. It sucks because I reaped the benefits in the first week from abstaining and then later in the second week I feel like a crack head whose body is craving for a fix. I honestly at times feel like I could have a heart attack, God forbid. I wish there was some sort of potent over the counter sleeping aid that would ensure to knock you out no matter what like ceroquel but without side effects. If I stumble on in, it sure save us from getting caught up in a jam! LOL But I'm going right back at it again cold turkey as I was before. If I try to wean off again I feel like ill just be stalling all while depriving my mind, it really does mess with you and I feel like I've gotten to the point after many years of the habit (14) that people can tell there's something slightly wrong with me. But yeah wish me luck fellas! Will start posting here and keeping y'all updated! Good luck y'all!

Is it an option to shut down internet in your room after a certain time?
Or to just have no internet anywhere in your room, in your house?
It's hard, but it will force you to find another way of keeping you busy when you can't sleep...
    my two cents...

I like @ChiaraScelta idea of shutting down the internet. I also have to say congrats! Congrats for getting as far as you did and for being honest with yourself when you did relapse @Stayingup7. Beyond what everyone has said and no i didn't read all of the replies but yes exercise is good an hour before bed, meditation (lots of free 20-30 min sessions online) and another thing is maybe it is just needing stimulus. Maybe watching a non-erotic movie as you fall asleep with the screen dimmed and sound down low (especially one you've seen lots of times and don't need to pay attention to).

I can relate with being wired/can’t sleep. I take Melatonin sleep gummy’s made by the company Ollie. Can get them at CVS. They work wonders. Or take Benadryl. Or better yet, a knock you out OTC sleep aid that goes by Doxylamine Succinate. It’s none habit forming. I find this helps make me drowsy enough to go to sleep instead of staying up passing around in an effort to avoid my vises... PMO being at the top of the list. I’m at 2 weeks now. Currently sitting on the couch, home alone, and want nothing more then to PMO. Urges happen. Even after a pretty smooth second week. One of the major points of going through this reboot period is for us all to find our inner will power.
Use all your crack head like skitzo energy to descover what makes your will power tick.

    Best of luck...

  10. This works for me.I hope it works for you too...
Before I sleep ,I make sure I play a puzzle game,I suggest Sudoku or The room.
By the time I'm done with two or three levels,my brain gets really tired and I fall asleep very easily.
Right now I sleep very well without even thinking about porn.
    I hope this helps.
