As my situation is different from most of you, I need your input on this. How serious was your ED before you start quitting PMO? You can use the poll below to answer it.

  2. Mine was very mild, usually working just fine but at times just slightly soft.

How long did you use porn?

I start this thread to find out if I had any issue. Becuase I am not addicted to porn but fab once or twice daily fantasizing real women, at times looking at photo or video but not a heavy user of porn generally. Usually, I am fine had morning wood and spontaneous erection which was pretty hard but I had ED the first time I tried to had sex with a girl, and not only the first time, we tried a few more time subsequently but failed too, unable to get hard and if I can get it, I am not able to maintain it. It goes soft when it enters the virgina.

  4. About 14 years. Doing things with a person is quite different than doing things yourself so it's not too surprising that you are having a bit of trouble.

It would highly depend on what kind of porn. For example, what they call ‘vanilla’ porn I would find it to be ok the following morning. When it was worse stuff I would have more feelings of anxiousness/remorse and next day it would be bad ED.

My reason for quitting were mostly due to mental issues caused, however, there were also physical health reasons like what your describing here. The effects it has on every aspect of life is huge.

I can’t help but feel like no PMO isn’t anywhere near as well known in the outside world as it should be. Not everyone who is a porn addict knows of sites like nofap. Imagine how many more people could do something about their addiction simply because they knew this site was here... it’s crazy to think really.

The porn I use (if I ever do) most of the time are the normal one like leaked video or photo. I am not interested in the exotic kind.

Ya I agree that the effect of chronic porn use and or fabbing have to be made known. I wonder how many porn user or people who fab daily are still happily doing it and not knowing what they have done to themselves.

I never had ED. On the contrary, I get an erection quite easily and it can last for hours if the situation is appropiate. I guess different addicts have different issues.

Haven't had any partnered sex as of yet, but I did have some ED. It was super easy to get off to porn, but I found that without it, My dick just kinda lacked motivation ya know? Like I could get it half hard but I couldn't go all the way without actively fantasizing without porn. Now that I've quit, I can get off within 30 seconds without fantasizing. Definitely don't have ED anymore. Def. Cured.

There are many other issues concerning porn usage. For me some of them are objectification of people as mere tools for obtaining pleasure, worsening of my social anxiety, compulsiveness in seeking pleasure (which extends to compulsiveness in other areas of life as well), reaching more hardcore porn (to the point where I feel ashamed of myself), waste of time, destabilization of dopamine and other hormone levels (which leads to anxiety, depression etc.)...

I see... How long did you abstain from PMO before your recovery?

I have stop M for about 80 days and I don't P as mentioned. But I am not sure of my recovery status. Now I have a new partner and I brought her home twice but does not have the courage to go for sex as I am afraid ED will happen again during sex. But what I did notice was sometimes it gets pretty hard when I am hugging her so I am not sure if I have recovered.

Yes, although I don't really use porn, I am sure any type of addiction will rob away your precious time and destroy you in some way. Good that you have discovered it and is making a change for good.

I had been in the process of quitting for 3 years. I went 9 months when I was 15 almost 16 without it, but that was MO'ing almost every day, so I didn't make much progress. Then after that till now I'd watch porn every week or so. There were a few times when I went a month, one time when I went 3 months without it. So I haven't been SATURATED in pornography for the past 3 years, but I've still been viewing it. That being said, I only started recovering ED wise once I quit MO'ing as well. It all depends on how deep your addiction was. If you were watching porn 4-5 hours a day, masturbating like 6-8 times a day (like I was every once and a while when I would binge), on the regular, you may need more than 80 days to recover. If you were normal or casual in your porn consumption, you should be fine. I'd say a good measuring stick would be if you get boners (not random boners throughout the day, like sexual response boners) from being around people you like (like you said, hugging), random people in real life, essentially, it becomes easy to get a boner WITHOUT fantasizing or viewing ANYTHING on a screen. If you get there you should be good mate.
