I wonder about this. I have been eating low carb, minimal processed food which is good but a lot of lean meat, and cheeses and dairy etc. I wonder about the hormones?

  2. Milk, other dairy products like cheese and processed meats can be full of animal hormones. Of course the body needs animal products to stay healthy (if you ask me), since some minerals and other nutrients can only be found in animal products, but I firmly believe dairy products are not necessary when it comes to good health, and may even promote disease.
If you abstain from certain foods for a while and then reintroduce them back into your diet you may be surprised of how toxic some "foods" really are. That goes for gluten, refined sugars, dairy.. Not to mention all the additives they put in processed foods.
The thing about dairy especially is that human beings don't need it at all. Like in humans, cow's milk should only be consumed by newborns. It is packed with animal growth hormones to speed up the young cow's growth. Besides that, it also contains a lot of estrogen and other sex hormones. These hormones, rest assured, can interfere with your own hormones and promote sexual excitement. Not saying it all comes down to this at all, but it may be playing a role. If you do a quick search on dairy and sex hormones or copper toxicity you'll find a lot more fascinating information on this subject. The dairy industry, of course will always use the calcium excuse. Nothing is ever said about the hormones. To make matters even worse these animals are often very stressed and forced to produce. You could say the same thing about meat I guess, but unlike dairy meat does have very important trace minerals.
