Hi i am a 19 years old studying at a university.i have this addiction of PMO since 6 years.this habbit of mine developed while living in a hostel where friends of mine were addicted to this. i am badly affected by all this. i am most of the time depressed,i think of having a dead soul,i dont feel joy of doing any thing in my life on the day or night i do repeat this PMO, i feel so weak, i cannot concentrate on my studies either, i am very diffident and so many other problems i have to face mainly because of this PMO addiction.i have kept this as a secret, never had the courage to discuss this problem with anyone.i do these acts at average once or twice a week. I am a muslim it is strictly forbidden in our religion too. It is a sin.but i am helpless with stoping or controlling my self. However one month in a year fortunately i am able to get rid of porn and masturbating durring the month of holy ramadan but sadly then again i fell pray to this addiction.once i tried to give up.it was a success for 3 months until it turned to be a failure of mine.
I have found this site as a place where i see a ray of hope for my success in abstaining from such habbits.i will be grateful for any tips and ideas that can help.
    Thank you.

Hi, I'm a student and new to this site too - I signed up about half an hour ago... Just wanted to say good luck. Ive found it can be very hard to study for university when PMO addiction makes me hate myself and have no energy for work/study. But don't feel guilty or weak! The very fact that you are here shows that you are not weak, you are courageous because you are sharing. I'm not a Muslim, but if Allah/God helps you to stop your addiction and bare out your beautiful soul during holy Ramadan then surely you know that by his grace it is possible to give up entirely too. You used the phrase 'failure of mine's, but that period of giving it up was also a success of YOURS too. Have hope, and good luck. You're not alone here, this is my first step on this journey too.

hey first of hope start believing in yourself. as you decide to leave this habbit then be determined and stick to your commitment. the first and formost thing you can do is to stop quantify your effort of abstaining form PMO in the form of no of days. take the every day challange, dont think that you refrain from PMO over a month and now you have the liberty to give a miss. always think that that you have to fight from this menace on every day basis. your one mistake or /slip will spoil your whole efforts. make everyday clean is your ultimate challange. you will definately get success. and start refraining your self from viewing crappy media content that arouse your feeling. make a goal statement and diverse all your energy to attain that goal.
