1. Hi all,

Just wanted to get your opinion on my current reboot. I am currently 2 weeks no PMO and I also quit smoking 2 months ago without relapse

I have read online that after quitting smoking dopamine levels return to normal in 3 months.

Does this mean that when I quit smoking my dopamine levels were already low and now without PMO the levels are even lower? I must say that I think I had a flat line after I quit smoking as PMO at that time was maybe once a month.

Right now 2 weeks into hard PMO I realize it is hard to have a "high" feeling you get from smoking or PMO from anything else. Maybe my body is trying very hard to adjust as I am trying to change too much too fast with the smoking and PMO?

  2. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I think quitting both smoking and PMO is causing a huge drop off in dopamine levels, causing so much stress and anxiety

I have exactly the same question! When you smoke, a lot of dopamine is released in your brain. Maybe this is a little bit similar to watching porn. I still smoke. But to be honest, I think it is best to stop smoking as well as stopping PMO. Your dopamine level will then be completely reset in three months. AFTER THREE THREE MONTHS, you will enjoy the 'normal' things again and you will no longer need the dopamine kicks like we experience at this moment. I think that's the story. Congratulations, by the way, for two months without a cigarette!

  4. I actually think quitting smoking is harder than quitting PMO since you can light one up so many times during the day.

I think quitting both is really tough since it really messes with your dopamine levels so much. It's a double whammy.

Good thing is I don't have an urgent to M or smoke nowadays.
