Today is my 81st day in my second reboot. First one was slightly over 120 days with many urges and consistent fantasizing during the recovery and thus it was not very beneficial.

Second reboot started few months later, without fantasizing at all and I immediately got into full blown insomnia (few hours of sleep) and occasional mood swings.

I wanted to share with people that my insomnia has somewhat improved in the past days. Instead of waking up during the night I now get about 6 hours of sleep but still wake up too early. It is not ideal progress but it definitely is improvement.

What I have changed in the past 10 days was that I started to meditate and use supplements.

The supplements I used are acetyl l-carnitine and Sunlife`s A-Z 26 vitamin/mineral complex. The idea behind acetyl l-carnitine is that it helps you improve your sleep and nerves while vitamins and minerals should be especially beneficial during the recovery. Please note that the vitamin producer is not relevant here but a mix of nutrients boost that should help your brain (like 100% RDA).

In the past couple days I was more irritable than usually but it will pass. There were no major urges and I think the no-fantasy mode is really crucial for the recovery. Finally, I have noticed that when I pee it feels different when I touch my penis and although sensitivity has not come fully back yet, it is nice to see that recovery is on the way.

Normally, this is part where I say what would be my goal to reach - i.e. 180 days. There is no goal in days, as I simply do not want to back to previous behavior ever again. All I want is to recover from insomnia and PIED in order to stop skipping on these opportunities that began to occur more frequently with women.

Are you sure your insomnia is related to nofap? Because in my experience it is the opposite, nofap makes for better mood and sleep.

Well ultimately after you are through with NoFap you get many benefits among which are better mood and sleep. But I did not heal completely, that is why there are still symptoms such as insomnia, mood swing and inconsistent morning wood.

When I am done with the whole thing, I will sleep better. Also, do not forget about PAWS, which could also be a symptom I am feeling. Some guy here is having insomnia for 17 months.

  4. Yeah, totally get this. Lately, I can only sleep a maximum of 5 hours. Glad to hear that the insomnia gets better. I might have to try those supplements.

You know, it seems that meditation is the key to good sleep. Three days in a row I skipped meditation and would wake up during the night and had crappier sleep. Then yesterday I decided to meditate for about 15-20 minutes and actually managed to sleep all the way through (8 hours of uninterrupted sleep)!

If you wish to know more about meditation, try the Headspace app. It will provide you with ten daily ten minutes meditations sessions to introduce you (if you know nothing about it).

    Good luck!

Are you being stressed out in you life? If so, you should start meditating. Based on my experience you cannot make insomnia go away in a day, it is a gradual improvement thing. It will take a month or two until you start sleeping better and there will be cycles in which there are days you sleep OK and days with insomnia.

I had the thing this morning where I woke up too early and couldn't get back to sleep. Argh. So furstrating. I am heavy on the fantasy... I don't think I can stop. I would be willing to stop but I don't think I am able. I am just laying there and trying to sleep and hey some fantasy starts to appear and there I am. In fact i couldn't even focus on my dream recall as much as usual because I was consumed with a fantasy.

One thing that I think feeds my fantasy is reading about other people's experiences with their GF... I feel very deprived romantically/sexually and lonely, too, so I guess hearing other people have something good going for them is hard for me. I am not saying they have to stop talking about it. Its good to talk, trust and feel. but I am just saying my own experience with it. i have to avoid entering threads which have to do with something about the girlfriend but sometimes it appears in threads not titled as such. I think reading about someone's GF last night on here made me really crave a relationship and that led to a lot of fantasies. I am definitely powerless over fantasy. I used to be religious and if I had a fantasy, I'd kneel and pray right away, but I found the fantasy would come right back once I got back to bed, so I don't bother with that any more. Plus, i don't like kneeling.

PMO addict, thanks for sharing. You are 58 days in of no PMO and that is something to be proud of - you are ona good path! Keep going and things will improve.

Fantasy, in my opinion, is what really causes most people to relapse. If you try to go through PMO simply by fighting against relapsing due to fantasy, you are more likely to relapse. You need to learn or better yet, condition yourself that fantasy = stop and block your thoughts as soon as they appear. It will take some practice but it is doable. I cannot believe I was able to cut it. Perhaps the key to success in cutting off fantasy is cutting it off at inception each and every time it appears.

As far as the whole GF thing is concerned, although I understand your position and frustration try to change your approach. We are all PMO addicts here (or were at some time) and this means we all have had our relationship trouble or did not have relationships at all. To me, I had long streaks of loneliness due to my PMO addiction and now that I am coming back to normal I do not want to rush into a relationship because I do not want it to backfire me with a chaser effect. If you are at 58 days in now, what will another 90 days of no PMO mean compared to how lonely you were prior to PMO. Another 90 days is nothing (assuming you were in a similar position such as I). But after 90 days you will not give a fuck about other people and their GFs, your brain will start to think of ways how to get chicks. You will become alpha male once again that you inherently are.

Stay focused and do not compare yourself to others. Good luck!
