    Hello guys! How are you?
So, I’ve been on nofap for 7 months; last August had been the last time I had jerked off to porn. Although today I pmo’d. I have a question for you guys: did I lose everything? Should I reset my count? I regret so much...

No man, you did not lose all your progress, unless you conciously decide to go on a binge fest. You should reset but dont be so negative about it. Each time you relapse take it as a learning opportunity.

I regret it so much. It was the first of 2018. I had promised myself that I wouldn’t PMO anymore. I’m sad. Although I couldn’t fight the urges today. Unfortunately, I lost this time.

Dont fret about it too much, whats done cant be undone. Look forward and continue to improve yourself. The key thing is not giving up!

Anyway i would like to retract my previous statement about resetting.

Came across a good thread suggesting not to reset to 0 but to subtract a specified number of days from your streak.

I think its a good idea for people who feel resetting to zero be too disheartening

    Hey brother,
Sorry to hear you fell off the wagon, but wow, August? That's really impressive. You sound pretty down about it. Here's my process for getting over a relapse. I hope it helps.

    1) Take responsibility. Recognize that you made a decision, or series of decisions, that led you back to the place you said you wouldn't go anymore. Figure out what they were, and own them.

    2) Take this as an opportunity to practice self-kindness. Have compassion for yourself, take a moment to appreciate the effort you've put into this and that you're doing what everyone is: trying. Above all, don't forget how far you've already come. I do this to reinforce the self- respect I've built, and also because in these moments the real danger is falling into a shame spiral that itself triggers further relapses or a binge. Remember how far you've come, and forgive yourself one slip.

    3) Try to place your relapse in its emotional context. What was going on when you started to feel the pull? Were there any warning signs that you see now in hindsight? Did something trigger you? Try to learn as much as you can from this so you'll be more aware next time, and can take steps to avoid it.

All in all, one time won't set you back too far in terms of reboot, but again, be careful of the shame spiral, invest time in self- care and your responsibilities to remind yourself what's important.

Regardless of PMO that's still a great streak. The most I could do was 29 days last August. I'm curious to know how you felt. I would assume you had no trouble getting an erection and performing, but did you feel anything else? Exhaustion, headaches, etc? These are symptoms that I often get when I PMO and very quickly my cravings return. I have the desire to search watch everything I once knew. I'm hoping this is just a minor speed bump for you and that you can get right back to your PMO-free life, since your brain and body should be rewired.
