(mental)fatigue and horny same time..

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by HandsOffDong, Feb 21, 2017.

  1. I am on day 53 of no porn and masturbation (blowjob on day 36) I do have the occassional boners, like this morning and now.

But I am so out of it. Mental fatigue, body aches, brain fog comes and goes.

What's going on? Kind of freaked out right now.

Hello. I'm actually new to this forum. And I'm on day 1, so maybe I'm not the best person to answer this. But I'm a doctor and I'll tell you what I know about addcitions and withdrawal. The main neurotransmitter involved in the process of addiction is dopamine. Initially during addiction, dopamine receptors decrease in number, hence we need different types of stimulus, maybe more intense stimulus to get the same response. Now when we stop the stimulus, dopamine levels plummet, and we get the usual symptoms of withdrawal, the reason why they say the first few weeks are always the hardest. Now as we go deeper into withdrawal, our dopamine starts to rise but the number of receptors are still low, so there is a lot of dopamine free in the brain and the receptors are hyperstimulated. This leads to migraine, hyperactivity, irritability, nausea, vomiting, yawning similar to what you are feeling right now. I'm sure you are wondering how long it will take for everything to come back to normal. Well that depends on how long the addiction has been there. Minimum of 90 days to sometimes maybe 6 months or even a year. I'm sure I'll take a hell of a long time because it's been a while since I've not masturbated atleast once in a day. Hope this answered your question. Good luck

Im on day 31 and having the same symptoms as the guy who posted above. Is there any way (supplement or something) to speed up the receptors reactivation? Or is there any supplement to ease the withdrawal symptoms?

Welcome to the club :) 108 days of no sex/porn/mb/orgasm and still experiencing everything you've mentioned, except of horniness. I'm in total flatline and probably PIED from day 1:(

Guys, i noticed a sudden improvement in mental fatigue at day 89 keep hanging, i was so worried i experienced all the things as the above guys mentioned,i still have a slight brain fog but my energy levels has drastically improved, it is the brain fog which you are experiencing which is a sign of withdrawal, meditation helps a lot.Keep on going guys it will definitely improve just keep pushing :)
