Welcome! I'm glad you're here. I'm 56, and I know all about addiction to porn and cyber. (Not married, however.) You will find a lot of men our age here. Keep coming back!

Here I am... you can feel free to send a private email of we can also be partners.

Perhaps you could be interested in some background on me. I am an old wolf on this..I started being attracted to porn when a teacher in first grade (7 years old!) showed me a porn magazine full of naked chicks more like a catalog, so to say...then I grew eager to know more about sex and its pleasures, but also being terribly shy, repressed and controlled by my parents (elder son, you know)..that would not stop me from masturbation from 12 yo on...always feeling religious regrets (terrible ones!)... got married at 26 yo but continued my old habits even though. As time passed I got porn aficionado to websites, and lately -few years now, thanks to Internet-- to live webcams, gay and hetero live sex chat... many wrong steps of which I regret, I have to say. Also quite a few attempts to stop the row even succeeding for a whole year from masturbation until I relapsed heavily due an excess of self-confidence (that's the webcam period etc).

Now, after these years I admit:

1.- I am an addict to sex, in its porn, live (cam) paid, hetero and gay forms (not a women chaser; convinced they are very, very dangerous..seems to me they look for money only)
2.- I am sure I will never wipe 100% out from my life the attraction I feel for those things
3.- If I can get control over the addiction I will be more than happy.
4.- I want to learn how to accept myself; love myself and forgive myself.

My marital life sucks really... I love my wife, though

    Have a great evening!

  7. Welcome!

I encourage you to go to the 40+ section and read a few of our journals there. Start your own journal there as well, tracking your journey and success. Also, I suggest setting up a counter and making a goal for yourself. There are lots of good folks here who support and encourage each other.

By the way, I am Jim , 58, working to better myself and be the best I can be.

Welcome. Check out the over 40 journals. Some really good guys there. HERE are some things helping me

  9. Hey @Liveoak ,

I'm just a normal ordinary member. No moderator super powers and no special insite. I share my ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) of what works for me.

Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much.

What worked for me was "working" it. It took hard work for me to complete a hard reboot (No pmo) for 120 days, then move into a Sex Positive mode.

First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals.

Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals.

Finally, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational".

That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community.

    Then, watch this video:

    --> L

    PS -

One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Reading other's stories with their victories and even defeats is a big part of my program.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

  11. Married and 65. Been doing porn for 45 years+. Got into internet porn (of course) when it came online. Lied to my wife continuously about it. Did it while she was in the room, where she couldn't see the screen. Began having ED, realized it was PIED. I have no physical problems, and I am in good shape. Talked to my wife about the PIED, but still couldn't stop myself.
The technique described on this video helped me:

She doesn't really trust that I am going to follow through, or that I am not lying about it, but she has said she is going to put it in her mind as "neither distrust or trust". So I have a chance to show it.

I wish you the best on your journey. It CAN be done, lots of folks here are doing it. Know that just stopping porn will not be the end of it. There are a host of behaviors and thoughts that accompany the behavior. So hang in there, there is lots of support here for you.

BTW, don't have any ED now.

Yes, Liveoak. Me too. If I was truly objective to myself, I would say there is much more to see in others than on me, but part of the issue is that and in exchange for watching one shows what one has... Human nature may be. I do not know.

Today I was near to fall in PM when I was left alone in bed very early, but managed to raise, dress and go for breakfast, read the news and leave to the office...I think is a victory.

  19. Welcome Dennis! Great meeting you. Great to have you here! You can do it!
