Ok guys, i havent been on here for 238days! i had to reset my counter today because i have pretty much been in overdrive with PMO for all that time.
Ive said this before, but this really is my time to kick the habit! I cant go on making myself feel like this for 1 more day longer. today i feel totally numb, totally consumed with self hate! i decided 3 days ago to stop, that lasted 2 days!

i have decided to start meditation classes, but can anyone tell me what meditation can do for porn addiction?

I'm willing to try anything, Ive read many an article on your brain on porn and its given me some good tools for the mind.
i just wish i could speak face to face with someone about my problem and be totally open about it, just imagining being able to do that makes me feel like crying.

Porn is slowly killing my soul and everything i used to enjoy in the world.

I was using video chat for a while, but ive successfully destroyed and put in the bin any form of webcam in the house so i no longer have any facility to video chat.

I really need to come on here EVERYDAY! its the only place i can talk openly about my addiction AND THAT FEELS GOOD JUST TALKING.

If anyone can trow some encouragement, tips or tools that will help then feel free, i would totally appreciate that.

Way to go Goodtimes! You've taken a couple of important first steps: you thrown away your webcam and you've started nofap.

Meditation will help you dealing with urges, clearing your mind of negative thoughts and will help you feel relaxed throughout the day. I do it first thing in the morning before I get out of bed (don't lay down, because you'll fall back asleep) and last thing at night. It will also help you in other areas of your life.
If this is your first attempt at meditation, give it some time and don't give up if you don't 'feel' anything those first few days. Meditation is a skill and takes some time to practice. Usually you'll start experiencing benefits within your first week and they'll keep growing stronger if you keep up daily meditation.

On top of meditation I recommend some form of physical activity: fitness, yoga, running, ...

Nofap is easier when you combine it with meditation + physical activity.

If you can handle cold showers, add those too. I did those in the summer and they were great. But now temperatures have dropped a lot and I can't get myself to take anything less than a scorching hot shower :)

    Good luck, man!

Thanks Napionder! Ive been researching meditation all day (work has been quiet) Ive only heard very positive things from it, not just for porn addiction but lots of other things i think it may help me with. Ive seen lots of different techniques for meditation, could you recommend something i could get started with??

    Thanks Again.

You could buy a book or a program if you need a plan you can follow. But meditation is so simple you don't really need a plan. Here are a couple of beginner techniques.

    - Sit down comfortably and make sure your back is straight.
    - close your eyes and just watch your breathe, don't try to manipulate it, just watch it go in and out.

There are a couple of exercises you can do:
    - count down from 100, visualize each number
    - imagine white smoke filling your body. It enters through the soles of your feet and slowly fills your entire body. Visualize how it fills every single part of your body: soles, toes, ankles, calfs, shins, knees, ... feel how each part relaxes as it is filled with smoke.
    - Repeat a mantra. This can be one word or multiple words. This can be anything, but make it something positive: love, I am, I am filled with confidence, Ohm, ... There does not have to be a certain rhythm, just keep repeating it anyway you want.

Your mind will wander of, especially in the beginning, this is normal. It will take a couple of days of practice before you start 'feeling it'. Every time your mind wonders of, just notice it and get back to the exercise. Don't get frustrated with it, because that is the exact oppposite of what you're trying to achieve with meditation. Trust me, it will become easier after a couple of days.

Many thanks for your advise! i have started meditating, Ive done it 3 times, The first time didn't really feel anything, but the next 2 times, i definitely "zoned out" only for 10-20 seconds or so, but i really felt something, i can only describe it as "Peace".
I did fail over the weekend, i PMO'd Friday,Sat and Sunday nights, although it was strange, i really didn't feel like it, it was a chore, it was not enjoyable at all, so on that note i start a meditation class tomorrow (Tuesday) i really want to get into it now and learn how to do it properly so i get the best benefit from it.

What i will say about me weekend of nofap failure is i was drunk on all three occasions, i don't drink Monday to Thursday so as soon as Friday hits I'm on it.

My counter has been reset today, again I'm back on the wagon and when the weekend arrives I'm not going to have any alcohol and see what that does.

Another feel good day! 3 days under my belt now, No PMO OR MO! I know its only 3 days but its my best steak in a long while, just feels good waking up in the morning knowing i beat the urges the night before. The meditation has definitely had some effect, its the only thing that i have found that helps.
