This is a particularly sad occasion for me. I thought I could take actions to prevent myself from watching porn and masturbating but they all failed. Self-will was not enough. I have successfully overcome substance use disorder with drugs and alcohol and should really know better than to try and run on self-will. Recently, the relationship with my girlfriend has become very serious. Let me say now that it is not the sole motivation to become a healthier human being. It was simply the final straw and now the jumping off point. For that reason, I am glad and can feel hope for a brighter future. Thank you all for being a part of this community. I am certainly grateful that there is a place I can go where people are dealing with similar problems in an effective, safe, and welcoming way.

Thank you for the welcome. And good luck with your journey. It will be important to be vigilant in your avoidance of porn. Modern society gets pretty close to displaying it in our everyday lives with advertising and entertainment so, I am sure that it also a challenge and plays a role as a strong trigger for me. Peace

  4. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.
