    Hello peoples,

Even though I know about the dopamine, the recurring process and all that information. I still get trouble stopping. Its not that bad, but I want to stop with masturbation. What technique/thread you guys recommend, that worked for you?

    Thanks!

I've learned that neither knowledge, nor "strong will" is enough. We have to make concrete changes in our lives. What changes? I think it varies from person to person.

If you have a problem with Pornography the first step i would take is avoid that at all costs. It is imperative that you understand that it is always better to MO than to PMO. The effects on the brain are radically different, especially over time. If PMO was percocet, MO would be a dose of Ibuprofen. They are nearly completely different worlds.

If you dont have a problem with P, than you are ahead of the game. Your biggest issue is time management, and being active. Masturbation is more often than not a result of habitual idleness. So you need to go out and do things. Workout, exercise, run, learn to draw or write, you need ways to be creative and have fun outside of your job. Go to church, read scriptures, however you do you.

Me personally I had a problem with laying around in the morning doing nothing, and sexual thoughts would ran rampant in my head- Easy solution was that I turned my alarm clock to a talk show (NPR is a good one, they are less likely to be raunchy then some others) and I try to wake up early in the morning, so that their words would fill my head when I woke up instead of overthinking about other stuff. Also, get up and WORKOUT!

I also meditate maybe twice a day for 5-10 minutes about how and why I need to avoid P and MO, for reinforcement.

If you have any other questions just ask, there are tons of other strategies that could bring up if you have a specific issue or weakness.

Now that I think about it,

There was like 1 to 2 months, where I went M free, because I had this personal project I set myself to do each day on a daily basis consistently. And that kept my mind busy.

Hmm. It seems the thing that makes you go back to PMO, is when you're bored or doesn't exactly what to do. Gonna try setting myself some personal projects, and meditate see where that goes.

I do meditate, but not so often, more like 2 or 3 times a week sometimes every 2 weeks. Maybe I just need to do it on a daily basis.

One thing I tried in the 2 months of no PM, is every morning watch 1 motivational video and read my monthly focus for what I want to get etc.

Thanks for the replies guys, somewhat made my mind clearer after reading what you guys mentioned. In a way, got me thinking back to the months I went PMO free etc. :D

do physical exercise daily . take balanced diet .. it will work . I have even posted a thread about it

    a great quote

As a child I was slave to my impulses; now I
am slave to my habits, as are all grown men. I have
surrendered my free will to the years of accumulated
habits and the past deeds of my life have
already marked out a path which threatens to imprison
my future. My actions are ruled by appetite,
passion, prejudice, greed, love, fear, environment^
habit, and the worst of these tyrants is habit,
Therefore, if I must be a slave to habit let me be
a slave to good habits. My bad habits must be
destroyed and new furrows prepared for good seed.
I will form good habits and become their slave

Knowledge is not enough ? Then more knowledge should do the trick. Read this :

Also I'd recommend to stop watching P / M / edge right now and forever, without going through this "small challenges first" thing. But that may only work if you had the same type of addiction as me, check my journal.
