Before I made the decision to reboot, I would often see a beautiful woman in either an ad on TV or a picture online, instantly get sexual thoughts in my head and compulsively masturbate. Now I'm trying to view women differently. I just saw a beautiful woman on the Internet and I was able to appreciate her beauty without instantly imagining myself sexually with her. Trying to mature and discipline myself, I suppose.
Strictly speaking, you are only seeing images of women and not women. When we see a picture or a clip we don't have the actual person in front of us to talk to them and hear their thoughts and feelings. So my thought is one thing that can be done is to not focus on the image in the first place, sometimes that can work online like say this forum where you read their post and get to know them. Even then guys may find themselves fixating on the avatar pic, that should tell us how stuck we are on that.
Oh, I wasn't looking for pictures of women. I just happened to see one (it's unavoidable in this day and age, after all) and I was proud of myself for not getting myself aroused over it.
I understand, I'm just saying the more we have a real conversation with women the less likely we are to objectify them.
