Does the reboot count if you are on prescription drugs?

    I'm currently on day 6 of no PMO, while I've had several urges and dirty thoughts I managed to kill them without much issue. However, I also take 60 mg of Adderall and 20 mg of Celexa everyday for ADHD and GAD. Would these medications be considered cheating/extra help or is it OK?

    Abstaining from pornography isn't about a contest or your current streak or anything like that. Those are just the tools we use to help us in the process. Abstaining from pornography is about undoing the damage that pornography addiction has done to all the areas of your life. If prescription medication (as prescribed by a doctor or therapist, of course) helps you recover your life and beat your addiction, then that's fantastic. Don't turn away from any tool that you can help you remain clean.

    It's not cheating. I've been on SSRIs for years. They can affect libido although my current one (Lexapro) does not. The issue is anorgasmia. But even when I took SSRIs that caused anorgasmia I could will myself to masturbate. I took it as a challenge. Hey, it might take 2 hours to get off but enjoy the journey.

    They can certainly help you in your goals, but it's not cheating. The power still has to be internal.
