  1. For those of you who have been at this for a long time, were your longest streaks in the beginning? Or did you did you fail a lot in the beginning and then start to build longer streaks? I've been relapsing like crazy and I'm afraid that I won't be able to get back on track. I make it a couple days and then it just happens out of the blue. Once I decide to do it, there's no turning back. It all happens so fast. So confused right now:(

  2. It's my belief that the first three or four days are the most difficult (the chaser effect). Get past those days and never look back! We will not surrender!

Don't be afraid of that. It's quite hard in the first 7 days. So, when you crossed the 7 days mark you'll find it easy.

My case is also same. I had achieved 30 days mark, but now i'm struggling to get above of the a week. So, Now I'm thinking more about the future goal. That way, I keep myself doing in my studies and away from the PMO.

A thought like "Its been so long, let me masterbait one time to see if the orgasm is different" may lead to another thought like "Oh damn, that orgasm was so good, nothing will happen if I try again today".

Its a much common thing here. I myself experienced this after my first streak of 70 days, i couldn't even managed to get to 10 days. When you relapse after a long time the chemicals released in your brain will again power the neural circuitry that you are trying to break. Since you have relapsed after a long time the effect of these feel good chemicals will be enhanced or will be normal. And now your brain would try to get these feelings again. Thus the relapses/binge.
My suggestion which helped me as well is to first actually see that one streak won't be enough for getting over this addiction. Secondly each time you relapse, don't feel as it was a failed attempt, you are in for a long haul if you want to overcome this addiction, so sit tight with it and be aware of whats happening in your mind when you face these urges.
Once you become aware of the rationalizing of your limbic brain over your self, you'll then truly know how addicted you are to this thing and then all you have to do is decide NOT TODAY.
Now once you have these urges in the initial days of your new streak, remember to extra careful of what you give your attention to. I mean reduce social media if you think you'll see something there that'll lead to PMO. Find out these BREAK POINTS and remove them for the first 2 weeks. By that time(14-15 days), you will start to experience the high energy which NoFAP leads to. At this point you can fight with your limbic brain and carry on with your streak. But beware, never for once think that after reaching a certain number of days that you can do anything(peeking, edging etc)/see anything.I am on 80th day and the urges are still there. I still have to be careful but yeah I am in a better position than I was earlier because with time you'll start to have more control. But like i said, its just starting for me and I'll act like that only.
Also try to exercise especially in the first few days, it'll tire your muscles and reduce urges.

@Righthandman76 Definitely for me, I had to build streaks. And, have some binge relapse failures that hurt. Then, the emotional pain within and for my wife became a serious motivators. Even then, it took several tries to keep at 30 and then 90 day streaks. Hopefully your journey has less setbacks than mine. Good news is after several serious years of combat, I've got peace in my life and a whole new type of strength.

I do believe every journey starts with those first steps. And, I believe you can do it, too :)
