I've come to realize something recently. Once of my biggest triggers was anime. Right before I started nofap, I used to watch A LOT of anime... but I also used to M a lot. When I got bored of regular porn, I found that hentai anime really did the trick. I was jerking off to cartoon women who didn't exist. I was pleasuring myself to body standards that aren't realistic. I'm a huge fan of anime and some of the best movies I've even seen were anime movies. However it got to the point that even looking at a female anime character can trigger me even if it's not a provocative image. My brain associates the particular art of anime with M time. Naturally when I started nofab I was hesitant to go back and watch anime again. it's been about 300 days since I've abstained from PMO, but also 300 days without anime. I don't think I can go back to watching it. I think the risk is too far great for potential triggers. If you watch anime, let me know how you deal with triggers. Or any other form of media that may be triggering.
i started watching anime from nov 2016......before i had watched only dbz........i have watched monster, code geass etc......there were instances when i found them attractive........but i was able to control that trigger.......sometimes anime overdo it......they consciously put sexually provoking material......but i realize that it is not real.....so thats a major controlling factor for me.........also when i am watching any movie or series.....i try to focus on the story rather than their bodies........ watch attack on titan ..........it is clean without any triggers.......
Already seen it. attack on titan was actually pretty good when it came to no triggers. Issue is even if I start an anime with no triggers, I'll be tempted to start watching ones that do have triggers
The poll is confusing because it has two separate questions... Anyway, anime has never been an issue for me. @SolitaryScribe you could try Superbook. It's an anime series about kids time travelling to bible stories. There's a new computer animated series which looks really stupid but the original one was anime. Don't think Bible stories will trigger you.
lol yeah I made it confusing on purpose. As for Superbook... not gonna lie, it looks extremely retarded. I'm all for Christianity but I hate Christian media. Just like Christian movies... can't stand them! The only one that was actually legit was veggietales!
I sometimes jacked off to cartoon people in high school, but it was never my favorite. Hentai got a little weird for me at times
Agreed, there's some messed up shit. I think when I came across hentai that was borderline rape/pedophilia I was like ok this needs to stop.
Yeah, anything to do with CBN or any Christian television is either super cheesy, prosperity gospel type Christianity or just plain heretical. Also, I find the bits that are "just for you atheists" are always too contrived and uncreative. Superbook may not be that bad though since it is Japanese rather than the American™ Christianity.
Even though I was heavily into that genre it’s weird I font get triggered by watching dragonball at all I think it’s becuse it was so deeply a part of my childhood that I enjoy and gives me some of that innocence back idk about other anime but goku is always inspiring me to keeping going and not to give up and no challenge is to big however I see how other anime’s can be triggering especially the ones with more female protagonists characters
Dragonball wasn't really one of the ones that were considered triggering. I don't find the art style to be all that alluring. If you watch sword art online however (specifically the movie). They designers purposely made Kirito's sister's jugs huge in order to rake in the "fan service". Although the show in it's entirety isn't all that triggering. Though most anime's will throw in random "fan services" here and there without warning. They did it even in Naruto which is one of my favorite shows.
The only anime i bought (besides //hack sign) had a woman showing her boobs, same for manga. I didnt like popular anime/manga back then except for DBZ,Yugioh,Samurai X, Spirited away, pokemon, silent mobius. Now im seeing animes with less hentainess such as the "Hoturobi no mori e" movie.
Yeah i have only seen the trailer and the first 5 minutes of the movie, and the concept is great and unique, tonight im gonna finish it, im sure is gonna be my fav movie of 2011.
I also recommend "A silent voice" By far my favorite anime movie. Warning though, it's a tear jerker.
I had to stop watching anime and reading manga, because it triggers me a lot. My P addiction started like everyone else with some softcore stuff but it ended in some really hardcore hentai and simply looking at anime/manga is a big trigger. Watching anime/reading manga for me is like watching tv series/movie where entire cast is made of porn stars - atleast that's how it is for me.
with every product, the goal is to get you as interested and as frequently using it as possible which is why films, animes, music videos, advertisements etc use sexual displays. The triggers are everywhere, everywhere is dangerous man. danger zone.
Exactly. That's why I stopped listening to the music on YT, when I realized that I "listen" to it because all those half naked dancers. I loved nightcore - guess why.
I just searched up bbc news and the first post was something about playboys model and donald trump. Sex is used to lure us into using products, because it is so addictive.
Yeah of course bro! When you start to recognise the patterns it becomes uninteresting Patterns? Like most music videos have girls dancing. Most rap is just about criminal activity. I was discussing this with my brother yesterday and music in general either turkish folk or modern hip hop is either about love/lust or death/kill. Gets boring after a while
