Hey there. I wanted to post about a new technique I am trying that seems to be working. It's pretty simple really: "I" positive affirmations. I've been getting good results with this. basically it's repeating "I" positive phrases in your head or out loud. It was a little silly at first but surprisingly I've gained a lot of self control. "I don't need sex because I'm in recovery", "I control my thoughts", "I am a good person who is strong", "I am stressed out but PMO will only cause me more problems", "I truly want a better life for myself" anything you can think of. It's funny how these affirmations slowly started to sink in. The key is relentless repetition throughout the days. Hopefully this helps!
Thanks for the idea. I've been considering doing this because it will eventually change my negative habitual thought patterns.
Thanks, I'm definitely gonna try this out! For some reason, I used to be and (to an extent) still am quite negative (although its significantly reduced), so this should help.
mates try to change, lots of stuff about your lives that youn dont consider are benefical to you and you will forget that you are doing nofap, while you adapt to a new style of life you´ll get less aware of how many days you have without a relapse and therefore forget about porn and that shit, for me it has work pretty good so far so give it a try if you like PEACE!
thanks! i am now trying this technique, it seems it really work and it really giving me positive energy, boosting my confidence as well!
Yeah..That will boost up your confidence and what we need is a confidence!! If you have confidence for anything then you can definitely do it!! Thanks for Sharing!
From what I've read, when making these statements, they need to be: - Positive - Present tense - Specific If your subconscious mind believes that you are doing something, that's what your body will want to do. If you're reading a magazine, and you think writing a letter would be a better use of your time, repeat "I am writing a letter" - and the subconscious mind will focus its attention on writing a letter. Repetition is the key to success here.
I think this kind of advice is effective, because this exactly what I've been doing lately (or on my previous long streak).
Thanks for the idea! I'm really trying to cultivate self control but to no avail. I'll most certainly try it this time though.
