Like if some jacked off to a few images for 5 minutes I would imagine the damage from this would be tiny? Where as if someone binged for hours jacking off to porn videos, images ext, having multiple tabs open and flicking about hundreds of different content I would imagine the damage from this would be huge?
The damage is there regardless, as you're wiring yourself away from real sex. However, the damage will be far greater if you are also scrolling through multiple scenes for novelty. For example, wanking for 5 minutes to a single scene with no skipping of content is nowhere near as damaging as wanking for 5 minutes browsing 40 different sex GIFs.
Another side of it I think when you can somewhat tell the difference in damage is how sexually aroused your getting, and how much pleasure your getting? For instance you could be wanking to a few images and feel a little sexually excited and a little pleasure but not that much. But then there could be another time your flicking about loads of different porn videos and images and feeling extreme sexual arousal and pleasure. I think you can actually tell how damaging it is to some extent with how sexually aroused you're and how much pleasure your getting? See let me explain my self a little better. I have a lot of really good blockers on my laptop. I have made these blockers near impossible to bypass. I keep this long 30 digit symbol password that would be near impossible to remember in another location a mile away from where I live. This password is pretty much the only way to get around these blocks I use. The blocks I use block so much it's unreal. Basically the most graphic thing I can see on my laptop when using these blockers is safe search google images of women. But occasionally I give in and go get this password and unblock everything now and again. Let me tell you I feel a HUGE difference when I relapse to these safe search google images vs relapsing to multiple porn videos, social media images ext. When I relapse to these safe search google images I maybe look at a few images and am done in about 5 or 10 minutes. When I relapse to everything when it is unblocked I binge for hours. But I even feel a much higher level of sexual arousal and excitement even at first when I unblock everything. Basically all I am saying is I feel a huge difference wanking to a few safe search google images of women vs wanking to porn videos, social media images ext. There is a huge difference in my opinion. There is a huge difference in sexual arousal, excitement and pleasure. Basically I am saying is I don't believe these safe search google images are anywhere near as sexually exciting as the porn videos, social media images and videos, and I also get no where near the same pleasure from the safe search google images as what I get from the porn videos and social media images and videos. I would hardly have any interest in binging on safe search images. Where as binging on porn videos and social media, now that's quite another story. Maybe the difference could be similar to an alcoholic who drinks 2 beers vs an alcoholic who drinks a litre of vodka. That maybe seems quite accurate in terms of the damage between the two.
I find even the safe search images have some pretty sexual content. Is there a way to block this, or do you just have to not use the internet until recovered fully if you want this type of control?
I think you just articulated something i've been noticing and thinking about as well. The sexual arousal the pmo addicts get is far higher than normal. I believe that a pmo addict is inherently more sensitive to sexual arousal and i believe that makes sense really, he has to get aroused by something that does not exist therefore he must develop some sort of leverage on sexual arousal. Where a normal person gets sexually aroused slower and to a lesser peak, a pmo addict not only goes from 0-100 much faster than the normal person but also goes 400% to a higher arousal peak than a normal person. I'd compare this to a car with acceleration and top speed, where a normal person is your everyday Volvo and a pmo addict is a top fuel car, with incredible acceleration (speed to which he gets aroused) and top speed (how highly aroused he can get). I think a pmo addict is very much like a person with anxiety, his nervous system is always on high. I think that's why pmo addiction and anxiety are so highly correlated in the first place, because being able to get excited out of nothing (images, fantasies) is training yourself to be hyper-sensitive. I also think binging on porn is much worse but also more powerful because no man really wants to see the woman he wants get f#% by another man, so it's also a shock value that amplifies the sexual arousal. Remember that sexual arousal is fundamentally just a type of arousal and you can overlap arousals getting a stronger sexual arousal. At the end of the line, i can certainly see how i never ever got anywhere near as excited by actual sex than i got from watching porn or even fantasizing about sex. I fully realize it sounds dumb and weird, but i got more sexually aroused and felt more sexual pleasure by anticipating/fantasizing about the sex i was going to have rather than actually having that sex.
Wrong attitude. Theres either watching porn or there isn't. searching, edging, pictures, p-subs are all part of an addiction you're ultimately quitting. every single last piece of sexual stimulation- no matter how big or small, needs to go if you want to get out of this vice.
If used as a justification to get sexually aroused, then yes, it's a wrong attitude. However, these things need to be addressed and understood when assessing one's severity of addiction - a person that faps 10 minutes to 200 different explicit sex gifs has a much bigger problem than a person that faps 10 minutes to a solo striptease of a woman, without skipping any content.
You just have to control "yourself". If you cannot you can block or turn down the internet usage for a while. Its "you" who is going to search on the internet. I have come to a point where I do not search for images but I do search for P keywords sometimes. But I donot click on the links. I am trying to leave this habit. Other than that we live in a hyper sexualised world, so if you come across something, do not beat yourself, just let it go.
