Meditation - 21/21 Exercise - 21/21 Self-improvement - 33/42 Walking - 25/42 NoFap help - 10/21 No cigarettes - 0/21 Most things, then, are going pretty well. A big fat zero on my cigarette-free days though. It's unlikely that I'll stop before next weekend now because I have a week of stressors - office day, counselling, partner's family visiting...
I am not aiming for perfection, mine goal is 85% or greater success rate and so far I am doing great. Of course, there is always room for improvement.
~ Day 36 / 65 ~ NoSugar Rules for Today (Tuesday, 26 July 2016) GOAL ~ Today, I promise to not eat any lollies, cakes, ice creams or chocolate, or drink any soft drink. Below is a series of If > Then plans for how I will implement this goal today. If I experience an urge to give in or quit... Then By the power of the old gods and the new, I shall not act on this urge.

Yesterday's results: Meditation - 22 Exercise - 22 Self-improvement - 34/42 Walking - 26/42 NoFap help - 11/21 No cigarettes - 0/21 No news - 0/21 I'm going to abandon the targets for my exercise and meditation and just keep those as running totals now. The intention was for these to be life-long daily disciplines so I'll continue to count in that way. I'm adding a new one, too. I've done a lot recently to cut down my consumption of news, including blocking a lot of news sites. However, I've recently started to reflexively and reactively check the BBC news website too regularly. This stuff does me no good (lengthy explanation in my blog if you're interested), I'm just searching for an alternative dopamine high and hoping to deal with anxiety by clicking obsessively there. I know I can't completely avoid the news, but I can stop that habit, and that's what this is about. My intention then is not to check the BBC front page - unless there is a good reason (I can't think of one, but it's not impossible I suppose: something happening in my own city, say). I've just done it now, so for the rest of the day I must not! Wish me well. x
@StraightEdge Almost there @Cleaning Colin That is a great decision. I made a same decision 2 years ago, and I never looked back. News are full of the negative stuff which you don't need to hear.

No news. Modern news = 100% fear. The more fear = the more audience. It's bad conditionning. the most important news are making their way to me, effortless. However, I spend more time on substantive topics.

Yesterday's results: Meditation - 23 Exercise - 23 Self-improvement - 35/42 Walking - 27/42 NoFap help - 12/21 No news - 0/21 I've removed no cigarettes for the moment as I'm going to take a proper run-up at quitting this weekend. Might be the wrong thing to do, but I'm not even trying at the moment (that is the wrong thing to do, I know). I failed like a boss on no news yesterday. Heard a radio news bulletin unintentionally and couldn't leave it there. I've failed again this morning too. It's an awful compulsion - what if something terrible has happened and I don't know about it? Well, what exactly? I'm going to keep trying on that though, and staying the rest of today news free will be a small victory. Thank you for the affirmation @iHappy! Any tips? I guess the usual, just keep trying, is probably as good as any. I'm sure it's the right decision for me too. Have good days, friends, I hope you get your stuff done.
@Cleaning Colin I used to keep mine news sites right in the tab bar so it was so easy to click, and I each time I opened web browser it was automatic thigh to do. So, the first step was to remove them all from the bookmarks toolbar. However, I did not quit using cold turkey approach. At first I limited mine usage for specific periods of the day and I set a time limit. Maybe you can try something like that? Like check news sites for maximum of 30 minutes each day. You can install some of the add-ons to block those sites once you use them for XX minutes. The most important things it to break habit of checking them all the time and refreshing for new contents every couple of minutes

Adding two new test habits. Leafs on a stream is a form of meditation and as for arm stretches, I am not sure how will it go. Gonna try for a couple of days.
