I'm in a flatline and have PIED. Is this okay to take for my depression? I'm abstaining from PMO and have been for 18 days so far. If I don't plan on masturbating for a long time, will this in any way affect my reboot?

Hmm. A common side effect of Sertraline (Zoloft) is a decreased sex drive, impotence or difficulty having an orgasm. o_O https://www.drugs.com/zoloft.html The same web site, also points out the following info about dosages and diagnoses...

Usual Adult Dose of Zoloft for Depression:

Initial dose: 50 mg orally once a day
Maintenance Dose: 50 to 200 mg orally once a day

    Comments:
-Dose adjustments may be made at intervals of at least one week.
-Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and acute episodes of Major Depressive Disorder require several months or longer of sustained pharmacologic therapy.

So, I am not sure why you are starting on half of the recommended starting dose of this medication. At any rate, when you select the side effects tab on this web site, the sexual dysfunction is itemised much more precisely...
Common side effects of Zoloft include: decreased libido, delayed ejaculation and ejaculation failure. It continues...

    Major Side Effects
If any of the following side effects occur while taking sertraline, check with your doctor immediately:

    More common:
    • Decreased sexual desire or ability
    • failure to discharge semen (in men)

It's fine. I've been on this medicine many years ago and I didn't have sexual side effects. He's starting me on half of the recommended starting dose so I can get into it gradually.

Hey if it makes me not masturbate for a while so I can recover, that's a good thing right?

i think it will delay your recovery, and that could be bad for your morale, so overall i don't think that it would help

Why would it delay my recovery if I was on it, yet I had suffered no major libido issues when I was on it before? And why do you think it would it be bad for my morale? I have a psychiatric disorder as well with bipolar depression, so I can't see myself losing much. I don't plan on masturbating for a while. I'm in a flatline afterall. It's such a low dose too. I don't plan on being on it long. I've been feeling like such shit since March.

It's temporary. I'm going to do other activities besides sit around and eventually, I may not need the SSRI.

well you said your depression was due to PIED, you did not mention previous related conditions, so i said i would not take for alleviating PIED related depression. i hope you recover soon, good luck!

Ah, yeah. Sorry about that. I should of! That was my fault. My bipolar depression is what started the whole porn thing I think. Not a good coping skill at all. But I hope zoloft helps a bit.

I was just answering your opening question^. It is your decision to weigh the pros and cons and then accept or reject it.

Oh, I know. I don't plan on masturbating for a while so I can get my full erectile health back, so this can only help I think.
