And if it does is there a way for me to negate it? I don't really like having testosterone in my body but I still want to get a good streak in Nofap. I feel like this fear of having more T in my body has caused me to break out of panic whenever I get a decent streak going.
@The human failure : yes. i always relapse after 2 weeks cuz urges are very strong, but let's see if i can make it this time
No offence but.. what the hell are you talking about? Why on earth wouldnt you want testosterone? Low Testosterone in men causes depressio, anxiety, osteoporosis, ED, fatigue etc. High levels PREVENT panick attacks. So why the hell do you wish low testosterone aka death sentence.
And your relapses arent because of testosterone.. its because of an addiction and compulsions and dopamine..
No it does not only a spike of testosterone after 7 days. Read more here http://yourbrainonporn.com/whats-the-connection-between-orgasm-and-testosterone-levels
Testosterone is related to sex drive, and your testosterone level and libido will increase somewhat, and then level off at about two weeks. If you can go two weeks, you can go forever. As DonLorenzo pointed out addiction is more than just testosterone, though high testosterone will increase your sex drive and potentially your urges. It will also give you more willpower, confidence, etc. Bodybuilders want to maximize their testosterone, and there is a lot of money in fitness medicine. Studies were done and showed that abstaining from masturbation only helped those who were masturbating more than once a week, and then only slightly. Hypersexuality medication essentially mimics testosterone and stops your body from producing as much by making your system think that it already has enough. This may help you short term, but you will have to deal with all your addictive behavior, compulsions, and dopamine cravings along the way anyway. Staying on hypersexuality medication long term will mess up your body and potentially wreck your health. My advice would be to develop a healthy lifestyle as far as diet and exercise and be wise about your sex drive. Don't worry too much about your testosterone. No it does not. "Many studies report similar testosterone levels in healthy men and men with chronic ED" - yourbrainonporn.com "The preponderance of human and animal research points to neither abstinence nor ejaculation having any significant long-term effects on blood testosterone levels - other than a spike around day 7 of abstinence." - yourbrainonporn.com
I know it causes all that but it also makes me feel masculine, I want to be as unmasculine as possible and decreasing T is a way to do that.
It all comes down to you getting lower dopamine levels in the brain. Lower dopamine levels means that you need a smaller amount of dopamine to make you just as happy as you would normally become by a larger amount of dopamine. Because of this even small things in life will make you happy and you will be more satisfied with the dopamine rush you get when you talk to people and therefore make you want to talk to people more. So new social skills and the so-called "superpowers" you are supposed to get while doing NoFap is not because of high testosterone levels, but because your brain want to socialise more and makes you more engaged in your everyday conversations.
Why do you want to be feminine and not masculine? But if you really want that (and side effects as poor health, poor mental health, insulin resistance etc etc etc and eventually be a sick man) you can eat a lot of sugar, stop excercicing, stress out as much as you can, dont sleep, abuse drugs, alcohol and smoke tobacco, get fat and there you go, your T goes down, your estrogen shoots up and you will become a wreck with many many diseases and will probably have a not-so-fun rest of life. SERIOUSLY, DO NOT LOWER YOUR TESTOSTERONE?! And GoAway, You are right but I think you meant more Dopamine receptors, not less dopamine? Because when stopping PMO, first dopamine levels are shot down, then D2 receptors will upregulate, and then your dopamine balances and you are sensitized to normal and healthy stimulus.
Testosterone does tend to increase masculine qualities, but as a genetic male, it is unhealthy to have low levels. You are in a difficult situation, and while I don't know how it feels, I can empathize. I have a couple of different OCD problems that I know are irrational and are trying to make me do what goes against nature, but they still influence me because of how real they feel. I would be happy to talk with you about this more in a PM, and about the ways I deal with them, but I don't want to broadcast the details for all of NoFap to read. On a side note, what do you mean when you say it makes you feel masculine? What do you consider to be masculine qualities?
