Got back on this after failing horribly. I got to the point to where I had constant adrenal fatigue and a depressed mood. I wanted to get back to my logical state so that I can finish up my web dev training. Now I am back to feeling better but not being able to sleep. Tired but not being able to turn off my mind. Any suggestions?
My insomnia passed after a few days/a week. Hopefully yours will too. Other than that, try practicing good sleep hygiene, like no screens (TV, computer, smart phone, etc) 30 minutes to an hour before bed, make your sleep space as dark as possible (black out curtains are amazing!), don't eat too close to bed time, etc. Some people find chamomile tea helps too. If you're open to taking something to help you sleep I'd start with melatonin. Its a naturally occurring hormone that your body uses to help regulate your sleep, and can be bought over the counter at most pharmacies. You could also talk to your doctor about Ambien or something along those lines if you want as well, but I'd start with the above mentioned stuff first.
I am NOT having a go at you @Medic06, but what an ass-aching, mindless phrase that is! None of it works for me either!
Thanks. I will try it. It sucks having to be awake for so long. I feel like I am having withdrawals. I will try all of those things.
Insomnia is part and parcel of the rebooting process. It takes serious time to heal the damage done to your brain. But each moment you say no to PMO you are winning the battle, even though it may not feel that way. Keep fighting the good fight.
No worries my friend. Everyone's different. What works for me might or might not work for anyone else on this green Earth. And, ass-aching is an awesome word! I'll have to remember that one.
One thing people underplay is the power of expectation in this. I think, in part, we expect insomnia whilst rebooting which will result in it. Expect to sleep well and you probably will.
I didn't expect insomnia but I am experiencing a difference in my sleep patterns. I guess this is common? I'm finding I'm awake much earlier than I am usually (no need for an alarm), I'm not tired during the day but I'm feeling drowsy and ready for bed earlier at night. I sleep more lightly too and wake up during the night.
