Hi guys, I'm trying to stay away from not watching porn and masturbating but right now the bigger problem is that I'm desperately struggling so hard to control my sexual urges to masturbate and i don't want to relapse. I'm on my day 3 and i'm definitely on a hard mode and feeling so horny all of a sudden (just ignore my PMO tracker). And the worst part is that I am in the middle of doing my work. What should i do? accept the urges and let them pass. masturbation gives dopamine. so do soemthing else that gives you dopamine. can you listen to some youtube songs(i can do that at work) try to distract yourself with something that doesnt require much mental effort. think of it not as need to avoid fap but need to stay healthy. just as we look left and right while crossing the road.
Another trick you can do Haniff, is to send the blood away from your penis (if you are having troublesome erections). Just tense muscles in other parts of the body for a few seconds and then release. You can clench your fists, crunch your toes, flex your biceps, thigh and calf muscles and so on. It seems to tell the brain something important is going on and blood flow is required elsewhere. It works for me!
Look u still have the option to relapse or not , believe me relapsing is not the right one you will feel more desperate. Try to bring ur self together and do let the urges control you , distract your brain and focus on whatever tasks u have.
Haniff, in case you are ever having these urges next time try cold showers. I have been taking cold showers everyday for the past 3 days now and I intend to do so for 27 more days. It is kinda challenging the first time you take it. I want to get accustomed to it so that I can better force myself to take them whenever I have a strong urge. Cold shower is probably the most effect way to kills sexual urges instantly, and it lasts too but do not let your guard down afterwards.
Watch some inspiring videos or articles. It will distract your thoughts from PMO. Another one is to Move out from the lonely place and be in some public place. Hope this helps.
Somebody else posted somewhere that holding your breath has the same effect. They said the brain realises you're not getting any oxygen so it diverts blood from unimportant parts of the body (i.e. the penis) to more important things (internal organs etc.). Worth a try too. As long as you don't pass out!
Try to avoid these thought maybe by discuss with colleagues when it happen, get have a coffee, have a walk around the office.
