Yup, you read that right. I'm doing this volunteer type of work thing in my country. Basically you work on a farm and they give you food and a place to sleep. I will work 8 hours 5 days a week. That's a huge contrast to what I have been doing the past 3 months. I was on summer break and had nothing to do. I'm now almost on Day 4 of Hardmode and I hope that being on this farm for 4 weeks will help me. Being busy 8 hours a day is important to overcome any addiction. Emptiness during my day has proven to be dangerous.
This sounds like an amazing plan! Good luck. I bet most of the modern world's problems would resolve fast if they ditched tech and kept life simple for a while. Brilliant idea.
Thanks! It was my Dad's idea. One of his colleagues did the same thing a few years ago and she said it really helped her. I will be going there for 2 weeks then to Germany to visit my Mom (haven't seen her in 5 months) then back there 2 weeks. I'm actually on a waiting list for a Rehab. Because I have also a drug + alcohol addiction on the side. But luckily I'm 1 month clean now. My dad and I thought it was the best idea to go to that farm. It's going to be hard work, but I think that's what I need.
That was amazing mate, hope my country too had things and events like this but sadly not. btw which country you doing this mate.
no my country is worse, it doesn't even have proper addiction rehabs even. my country has porn everywhere but no porn removal things for a man. I just want to go to canada or europe because they have proper methoda and way of living.
That's awesome man! I did that for a few weeks when I was younger. I was only about a 3 hour drive from home, but the lifestyle was extremely different and quite eye opening. Enjoy the experience!
Yeah the lifestyle is totally different. These people eat so healthy. They are way more Zen than City people. It's been a great experience so far. And I go to bed tired each work night.
Working on a farm can be such a rewarding experience. It's a great way to stay busy and focused. The change from your summer break routine to a structured farm life sounds like a positive step. Keep up the hard work, and I'm sure it will help you overcome any challenges you're facing. By the way, if you're interested in farm equipment or just curious about what's used on farms, you might want to check out Small Tractors. They're essential tools in agriculture and can be quite fascinating to learn about.
