Hello - I just relapsed today, and I really wish I didn't do that. Now my mind is full of porn pictures and I pity myself. Is there a way to recover from PMO faster?
Unfortunately, porn addiction causes physical changes to your brain. Because of biology, it can heal only so fast. The fastest way to heal is to eliminate porn completely, no exceptions. (Even if you relapse, it must be without porn.) But don't relapse. The science says that your brain needs at least 7 months, probably much longer, for a full recovery. What can you do to motivate yourself each day? You only need to complete one day at a time!
There are no shortcuts with the reboot, but if you want to reboot as soon as possible and get back to the normal. You are supposed to completely eliminate the porn and masturbation, avoid looking anything sexual as possible, find a proper way to deal with urges, create and form a strategy to make your reboot easier, no sexual imagination, no anything of pornographic nature.

FALSE. There are ways you can speed up recovery aside from abstaining from porn. 1. Meditation. Two 15 min sessions a day. 2. Cold showers. Ice cold showers. 3. Reading a book. Personal development books, preferably. 4. Exercise. High intensity interval training (HIIT) is strongly recommended. 5. Natural supplements. Zinc, magnesium, and omega fats are a must.
This is another false claim. Meditation, cold showers, and exercise are actual ways to speed up recovery.
I would like to add some points. I do a lot of research on this porn addiction because i m addicted for 19 years. According to neuroscience your brain is changing everyday, you didn't watch porn. Everyday the brain is readjusting to a new neural pathway. In reboot you have to know the importance of a special protein called deltafosB. Consider db as a small child and he is always telling you " uncle, its time to watch porn ", " uncle, remember that particular clip, she is very beutiful, watch it again " so looking at this we can see , this db is always tempting us again and again to watch porn. According to neuroscientist this db is flooded in brain if we keep watching so much porn and will go away completely if we abstain from porn for more than 7-8 weeks....so reboot start only after day 60. So first complete 2 months. I will tell you a secret tool to speed up this process and that is , yes meditation can speed up the reboot very very fast . workout also effective but meditation is the silver bullet. Within 12 days of intense meditation you will complete the first flatline and second will come within few days...with meditation for 30 days your mindset will be equal to a man who complete nofap 90 without meditation. I am not marketing meditation, i do many reaserach about this, as a solution for my addiction and i find out this all.
I don't dispute that those sorts of things help. I myself preach those things (except for the cold showers; see my note below). But please note the difference between the physical changes that your brain has to make (which is what I was talking about — argue with the researchers, not with me), and getting yourself clean, which is what you're talking about. (Cold showers should be done only if you are physically healthy and strong, otherwise it can cause a heart attack. I have a heart condition, and a cold shower especially in winter could kill me. Speak to your doctor if in doubt.) Everybody's different, but I had my first flatline pretty quickly, and I was meditating only ½ hour once a week. Many people on this forum have their first flatline quickly without meditating. I'm not criticising meditation (meditation is great for most people — not all, unfortunately), but don't confuse an anecdote with scientific research.
Ha ha, that made me laugh! No, nothing to do with PMO. Two suspects: either trauma-related or due to incorrect wiring of heart nerves.
Lets see guys. I'm a long term rebooter (3 years with some relapses in between, longest streak 300 days) who just relapsed 2 days ago.. After the O no strange feelings, untill now no dead dick or any other negatives effects, just a lot of regret. I start to do 10 min of meditation + cold showers everyday and keep you updated!
