When and where? Did you just pluck it off the street and start munching? Did you at least use ketchup?
I found a store that sold live chickens and they also had pigeons. All in cages. You pick out what birds you want to buy. They then kill it and remove the feathers. I cooked it in the barbecue smoker and had it with red wine. I was in heaven.
Yes i myself had it too, many times, love it, delicious especially baby pigeons i even had ducks, they taste pretty good too better than pigeon in my opinion
Where I come from, it's called 'squab' when it's sold in fancy restaurants. Hands off @fg4795 , though. I'm warning you.
It happened something similar to me too. I've eaten a bat, very delicious one, but the bad part is it started a global pandemic.
Typically the pigeon you see on menus in Europe (etc) is Wood Pigeon/Wild Pigeon - a slightly different species than the typical City Pigeon, and bred specially for it's meat. If you are thinking about killing a city pigeon, as a minimum look into what pest control measures there are for pigeons in your city - you do not want to eat one that has been poisoned!
