Totally! Actually, last night I binged watched most of season 1 of House of Cards. In it, the story focuses a lot on a US congressman who is an alcoholic. At an AA meeting, another guy says how he can't control everything in his life, but he can control 'zero' (after talking about how that day was his 5,215 day (or whatever) without a drink) meaning going back to day zero. It's something I just kind of stumbled on in a way, but it has been very effective. It may seem daunting at first, but it's really not and I recommend giving it a chance.
