Hello everyone Don't you think that our lifestyle needs some major changes? I mean, we got programmed to just watch another person doing something, we enjoy that rather than doing something with our lives Why is that? It reminds me of "the sims" and how we enjoyed a stupid game that is just a stimulation of a real boring life Nowadays everything on a screen seems better than real life, sex in more interesting when watching others doing it, people's achievement seem more interesting than ours, everything in movies catches our attention more than real life Like a lot of us are just sitting watching other people's life and wasting ours, like it's not for us to have sex or be succesfull or do whatever the fuck we want to do If life's a game, then we are spectators, not involved in the game I used to be that way, now i'm slowly getting better and better everyday Anyone who feels lonely and miserable, keep that in your mind If you are a spectator, if you spend so much time behind a screen, consider reducing screen time, and involve in your life and environment as much as you can
I agree with you. That's why I deleted all my social media long ago, and also reduced my gaming time.
yes, it makes sense. On the other side, it means a lot of intellectual input that I try to benefit from. But you make a good point. Reducing screen time is not always possible.
No I'm not talking about the things we learn from What I'm referring to actually is the act of following models and "influencers" and random people on social media and watching them doing things that you can do but don't do anyway Watching people eat, or watching people cook whithout you really cooking or applying what you learned, etc The problem isn't the act, because we all watch some random stuff and it's okay, if we're mindful and intentional, we don't need to take it so seriously But I'm talking about this wrong mindset that made us suddenly enjoy watching things rather that doing them Porn is the biggest example, if you get hooked ,you don't even enjoy the real thing Same thing applies for social media, maybe with a lesser degree Yeah reducing phone usage is easier said than done, I'm still struggling with this but I try to be mindful and intentional about it rather than mindlessly wasting time
You're right @Subzero-32 we waste a lot of energy and time unnecessarily on our screens. I think it's a matter of mindfulness over mindlessness. Being intent and purposeful in every action we take, not being acted upon. We consume way too much screen garbage. It can't be good for our eyes or health. What is ironic is I just spent 4 more minutes on a screen reading and replying to this thread.
when i look back at my life, i want to think i explored life myself and been out there in the world. My last life lesson i try to fit in to my life is to stand up when i am behind my laptop. In that case i wont automatic stay long in bed or behind my desk but i keep my energy levels high and even a late walk in the evening is then a nice option.
