I wanted to start this post saying I’ve been 23 days clean of porn and masturbation and will likely be posting a success story later once I reach the 30 day mark. I’m making this post however to ask about wet dreams. Will these affect my results on nofap? Whether they do or not im also looking for a solution since I don’t want to have to keep cleaning my sheets lol
Well done on your journey so far! I've never suffered badly from them myself, only had a few but they are part of the process about your brain changing from porn to reality. Running cold water over your parts and going to the toilet before bed is meant to help, but long term they should go when your body starts to reboot, until much later in the process. Good luck!
Don't worry about wet dreams. They are part and parcel of the body's self regulating system. Wet dreams or to use an euphemism 'nocturnal emissions' are perfectly natural. However I find eating greasy food to be a trigger. Also I find if I get too close to a woman I'm attracted to I have a leakage of semen. Which is very shaming. The memory of such an encounter can lead to wet dreams also.
I remember that when I researched this a while ago (before I got into the crap that lead me here, I believe!) one of the things they said to do was to tell yourself you were NOT going to have a wet dream while you settle down in bed. "No time for this bullshit today, I'll stay clean and cannot deal with this tomorrow. Nothing today, please. Thanks" Putting your mind to NOT doing it, and actually believing it. Somehow, this worked wonders for me. I also realised that wet dreams for me were always accompanied by erotic (in my way) dreams, and not seeing and thinking about things that might cause those helped too. Good luck!
+1 I would add stretching before bed (like yin yoga), deep breathing with your diaphragm (20 deep breaths with your belly before to sleep). You can also do the Microcosmic orbit to redirect your sexual energy to your brain and your body to avoid the accumulation of your sexual energy in your genitals.
It is common to have wet dream during relapse. Trying doing the following things: 1. If possible take cold bath before bed. 2. If you couldn't take bath, dip your genitals and leg into cold water. Rub your arm pit, navel region and medulla (back portion of head) with cold towel before going to bed. 4. Keep away from fantasizing yourself 5. Meditate for at least 5 min. Visualizing your energy moving from your lower part of spine to third eye(directly above the bridge of the nose). Do this before bed.
