I don't think i'm healed, i'll probably need up to 2 years to heal, i think. At least i'm not in the hole i was for the last 3 weeks...my mind was costantly coming out with negative thoughts, constantly, like a jackhammer. Right now it's a little better, but sill not good. I think i'll need 8 month or 1 year to get back to normal.
Good to hear you are out of the hole. That's the danger zone, where we stop interacting with the world and marinate in thoughts of our own failures, imagined and real. It's a bloody long slog, that's for sure. I think that in an age of medicine where symptoms are easily treated, we find it harder to invest the time and effort to actually get to the root of a problem.
If you don't mind me asking, on a different note: what are you eating? Diet and mood have very strong relations as far as hormones are concerned.
like me, you could be in PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome). i suggest looking it up. For me everything people suggest (meditation, exercise, diet, staying offline) does not work for me. My life is in complete order and im still in paws. Depressed, anxious, no energy, no motivation etc.
Have you checked out looking at your daily diet? The food we consume has a large impact on the physical as well as the emotional state.
Yes, for the last month my diet has been very bad. I start eating carbs and sugars because of depression (better to eat bad instead of pmo). I have to get back on track.
And to to EZPZ, sounds like your not being honest with yourself if you say your life is in complete order, and still experiencing those symptoms. I would encourage to tune into the state of being you actually envision for yourself, be it peace, love, joy, etc, then to actually feel what that would be like. That can light a small spark which can begin a shift that will actually bring those states into your present reality.
@Mattew I feel the pain of your losses, man, and I know firsthand how much depression sucks. I’ve been going through a period of low energy and resultant depression for a few months since first quitting drugs. Now I’m recovering from PMO too it’s hit harder. You’re not alone in this fight, and things I’ll surely get better, no matter what happens in the meantime. Thanks for this thread, brother
PAWS symptoms occur regardless of how your life is, however the symptoms are better slightly if you reduce the stress in you life. The advice you give in this thread is great, but for those of us in PAWS doing all these things doesn't improve symptoms by much, if at all. I wouldn't even call it a flatline though it could be similar My advice: - eat well but dont go on a diet, it puts more stress on the body as i found out the hard way - do exercise when you can manage it, sometimes thats just a walk - meditate every day but dont give yourself a set amount of time, a few minutes is better than none - stretch every day - cut down on caffeine if you can (i sometimes need it for work) - cut down on screen time as much as you can *this one helped me the most, it reduces the overall stress on your body and can help manage symptoms better.
