If you are a porn addict, the answer is yes. If you aren't, it might be considered a reset. Relapse is a mental healthcare term.
Relapsed again last night by edging. My enemy is edging then I eventually go the full one hundred... Unlike my other nofap attempts this would lead me back to my old habits (multiple times a day and forgetting about nofap) but this time I'm adamant. I've felt the benefits of nofap and I won't let that get away.
Do an inventory on your situation so that you can prevent from happening again. The questions to ask yourself are as follows: What lead you to edging? What boundary line did you break? Did you have a sponsor/AP to keep accountable? What steps will you take next time? What were your feelings prior to edging? When one starts edging, one will eventually reset/relapse. If nothing changes, then nothing changes. God bless.
No.We’re all human, are brains works in the same fucking way.Stop thinking some of us are some aliens that can watch porn or whatever without having the same negative effects as everybody else.
If someone is doing nofap (no PMO) and goes 1 week without doing any PMO and on the 8th day watches porn for 2 minutes I'm sure it has the same negative effects as someone watching hours of porn a day and masturbating up to 4 times a day. Its not the same... Its like saying a alcoholic who abstains from alcohol for 2 years then has alcohol on the 3rd year is still an alcoholic or will have the same negative effects to when the person was abusing alcohol. I don't think our brains are THAT fragile thats the point I'm making.
This is why you need to get a sponsor, someone you trust who is working the program that you want to, someone a year sober from PMO, someone that worked the steps. Then you get healthy feedback for the issue you are dealing with. As you can see, conflicting viewpoints have completely derailed this thread.
Of course, someone who watched porn for 2 minutes is less fucked than someone who binged-watched it for 4 hours straight but it doesn't matter how long your relapse is, a relapse is a relapse and you're back to day 0.But that's not the point, what I was sayin' is that PMO IS BAD FOR ALL OF US 'cause we're all human and therefore all function in the same way.Once you understand how destructive PMO is, you won't want to do it, either for 2 minutes, 4 hours or whatever ! Again, NoFap is a mindset and if you give in to your PMO urges you're relapsing. It's that fucking simple.
For very long, I thought the relapse was only after reaching orgasm. I was wrong. Now after many years wasted, I understand the real relapse comes from what page you decide to open. You can always retract before the page fully loads, but as soon as you voluntarily look at your poison after asking for it, you already lost a battle. The guilt will let you know it. And there's no such thing as edging, edging is a relapse. The main goal should not be avoid O or MO, it should be giving 0 chance to your addiction. Still, the less you give it a chance, the better it is.
It's not a point of view, it's a neurological evidence: edging fucks up your brain with dopamine in the same way as "full" PMO.And like you said edging can even be worse since you keep fucking up your brain for even longer by binge-watching porn for hours.
I mean that if a person watches porn just for five minutes without getting aroused then it's definitely better than relapse But if he keep doing it for five hours then it's worse than relapse
Yes, it is a relapse . Watching porn itself will mess with your brain. It will slowly lead to addiction. It will give you the Dopamine u want, whether u masturbate or not.
It's not HUMANLY possible to watch porn without getting aroused, feel free to test it out.Porn is EXPLICIT representation of sexuality, it's MADE to get people aroused ! Again, watching porn alone fucks up your brain (and I know what I'm talking about).
