I want to ask is it okay to masturbate without watching porn .. Coz it's really difficult for me .. m controlling myself but it's like my dick will cum automatically without any work
No, you must abstain @Mr.Tanny. This addiction results from massive overstimulation of our reward system in the brain from fake sex. Porn is fake sex because you are alone (also the way it is portrayed and other reasons). Masturbation is fake sex. You use your hand as a replacement vagina or anus = you are fucking your hand i.e. this is also fake sex buddy!
I agree with you but I don't have any girl... So m very lonely and when ur lonely it's really hard to resist
Yeah I'm in the same boat as well, but if we persevere we can look forward to a clean lifestyle and sharp focus on life. I feel lonely too but deep breathing and meditation sure does help a little bit in the long run.
Yes. This is your journey: you set the goals and you experiment with the techniques you find. I think that, in theory, masturbation is a good thing. It is sex with someone you love. My goal here is to give up porn and my longest porn-free streak was 654 days and that was when I was still masturbating. But I crashed, and after that I never managed more than a few months. Until now. Now I found NoFap and I decided to try giving up masturbation and porn. To my surprise not masturbating has helped me stay porn free. Try different things and keep a journal (here is a good place to keep that). If you find you can stay porn free for month after month after month while still masturbating then great, you’ve reached your goal. But if you find you keep relapsing then try giving up masturbation too. Keep trying, keep experimenting, keep finding out about yourself, and eventually we will all be free from pornography.
"Masturbating is neither a good thing for a porn addict!! Nor is it sex with someone you love!!" If someone was addicted to downing 2-3 bottles of liquor daily, it would not be good to downing 2-3 cans of beer daily. You might be in love with yourself But stroking your dick and telling yourself you are fucking yourself is just ridiculous!
I agree with kropo82: “ I agree with Kropo82: Yes. This is your journey: you set the goals and you experiment with the techniques you find. I think that, in theory, masturbation is a good thing. Healthy sex in a relationship is completely fine as long as there is NO fantasy. For single people, healthy sex with someone we’re dating (NOT a hook-up) is completely fine too. Masturbating is not the enemy as long as we don’t do it to fantasy! Of course this is my opinion. We all have to find our own truths, there is no “one size fits all” solution to this PMO problem. Good luck, message me anytime.
More thoughts ... I've been looking at other threads and stuff you might find useful @Mr.Tanny: Healthy masturbation? (2017) Surely masturbation will help me resist porn? (2016) Is porn the problem or is it masturbation? (2016) What about the scientific evidence for masturbation? (2015 - 2016) Why is masturbation said to be healthy? (2015) (That second one is my first ever post here! I stumbled upon it looking back through my post history for something else.) This one's from the Frequently Asked Questions thread on Your Brain Rebalanced: Or these from the NoFap 'About' page: Then this is from the guide we all get sent when we first sign up for NoFap It goes on to describe the lite or easy mode in more detail I hope all this helps. Like I said earlier, this is your journey. What have you decided to do?
@Mr.Tanny you've heard through the gamut here.. Can I ask a question, instead? How do you feel morally, about masturbation? That was the defining consideration for me.
I think it all depends on you and how you feel about it, is it a moral issue or a health issue or both or neither? I still masturbate from time to time to relieve sexual tension, the way i see it is i am human and part of what makes me human is my sexuality and expressing it, but in a more healthy way. I no longer view porn and haven't done for nearly 3 years now. When i first started Nofap (technically before i actually found out about the Nofap site) I went through a period of losing all interest in sex, even masturbation for a few months. you could say i lost my 'mojo' for a while. But i feel that I have developed a more manageable and healthy way to express my sexual needs. My aim is to become intimate with a partner again and porn only gets me further away from that goal. What works for one person might not work for others though. I have no shame today about what i think about because they relate to realistic goals. We have become so used to the aggressive and violent porn out there that we forget what it means to be intimate and appreciate someone for their beauty, personality, smile etc. I'd say if you feel like masturbating is going to make you crave porn again then it would be wise to abstain. It has taken me a long time to get to the point I am at today.
Thanks for sharing some good summative info. This has been an endless debate in these parts, but it's nice to have a collection of the key points
