I try to not look at p or masturbate. I only try to have sex w my gf but everytime after we have sex I get urges to look at p and it’s so exhausting why does this happen. I hate what p has done to me yet I just want to consume more.

  2. I think that is what called, "Chaser Effect." I'm not sure why it happens, but it is something to be mindful and aware of.

I suspect someone with better experience can help you better than I can. I've been on NoPMO for almost three weeks now, and I haven't been intimate with my wife in years. My original goal was NoPMO for a month before I open up to intimacy again and it seems like that is where I am heading now.

I’ve never heard of the chaser effect before. It’s almost like I don’t want to have sex because of the feeling I get after I just feel empty inside

The chaser effect, it's like your brain is trying to chase the dopamine it gets fron porn after sex - it's an after effect.

Thanks for the advice i appreciate it never had a streak before been a while since I’ve viewed actual p like on a p site I just don’t keep track. Wouldn’t a p sub be like a trigger ? And do u masturbate to the p sub or just look at it?

There's several elements to this behaviour as far as I understand it:

    1. Chaser effect - as said above, our brain learns to seek out things that are rewarding/pleasurable.
    2. If you've spent many years indulging in online porn or similar, you've been exposed to a 'supernormal stimuli' (something that is not a pleasurable high derived from a natural source, but an exaggerated or uber-powerful version). Unfortunately some scientific studies have shown that over time, the brain will crave the supernormal stimuli (i.e PMO) instead of the normal (i.e sex with your GF).

Hence the need to abstain and reboot / rewire the brain to reconnect with the normal instead of the supernormal.

It does start with us being conscious and not giving into the urges - maybe you can set some boundaries that you won't M within 48-72 hours after sex?

I also experienced it, i had a good streak - no urges and then after some sex, the urges started again and i lost the fight. That's actually my biggest problem.
