No porn? Fine. But what about these?

    Hi everyone,

I am new on this website and I have a problem, like the most of you.
Getting an erection is sometimes a trouble for me, when I watched porn, I cannot get an erection for a day (or perhaps two). But it happens that I don't watch porn for several days, depending on how much time I have. So i don't consider myself really addicted

Although some of you might have a worse addiction, it is rather annoying so I want to stop watching porn.
I have submitted on this forum and use the "stayFocused" extension of Google Chrome to block websites like Pornhub for two weeks. (I also blocked 9gag, that website is very distracting.)

However I have a few questions for you:

    What about Game of Thrones?
I started watching the newest season and I would like to finish it. However, it shows a lot of nudity. Is it OK to watch or not?

    Why no masturbation?
Maybe I am completely wrong on this but why is it the "NoFap"-challenge? Masturbating / edging does nothing wrong right? Its just very distracting.

    Thanks for the answers!

We are not better or worse than anyone else we are just creating a new culture. There needs to be enough of that new culture in your life to wipe out the old culture of porn, sex obsession etc.

I myself think for Game of Thrones the reason you watch it matters a lot. Are you watching it because you think the plot is interesting, or are you watching it because there's lots of nudity?
You also obviously shouldn't masturbate to it, then it would definitely count as porn, I think.

  4. Well said good sir that is very true. The Rule I use is that like the counter says I will not intentionally watch any Porn or masturbate, however if a well written and superbly acted movie has a little nudity or fake sex in it then I do not consider it a slip so long as "A" I watch it because I want to see the story and am not just trying to look for triggers or porn subs. "B" I do not ogle the nudity and in my case actually avert my eyes for safety. And finally but most importantly "C" I do not edge or masturbate to the images while I watch it.

Now granted this is a touchy subject and really depends on your understanding of your mind your devotion to your goals and your personal challenge, people who are trying to not even watch porn subs likely will stay away from any movie with nudity. Likewise if you know that you are feeling triggered then it may be extremely wise to not watch any nudity because it could all to easily lead to relapse in your vulnerable. However Nudity is perfectly natural and if viewed without lustful intent it is totally healthy. So @wimmpie you will have to decide what is right and safest for you in your journey.

  5. If you think the naked women in Game of Throne will trigger you, don't watch it. If not, then go ahead. If you are unsure, try watching it with a friend.

The problem we face is not porn or masturbation. It is dopamine. While watching porn releases some dopamine, it does not release nearly as much as edging/ masturbation and orgasm. And it is that dopamine that we are addicted to, which leads us back to porn. So masturbation/ edging and watching porn are self enforcing. Doing one makes you want to do the other. That's why it is best to stay away from masturbation and edging. It will slow down your reboot to a crawl.

  7. Dang it I just realized that the Witcher 3 is coming out this month and my friend gifted me a copy. Love that series so much for the deep plot and rich choice system that lets you craft your own path through the story, however like Game of Thrones it does enjoy its nudity a little more then I would wish. So looks like I will have to practice what I preach and try to stay on my toes.

  8. Might be a good way to help you de-fetishize the naked female body. But only if you are doing that and not PMOing.
