I'm making the decision tonight that it's time to end this cycle of addiction. I've been lurking here for a while and I've finally decided it's time I make a post. Hopefully the community here and the accountability of displaying my counter will help me over come this addiction that I've faced for many years. To introduce myself I'm a 35 year old male who has been struggling with porn and masturbation since I was 12. When I was 12 I started with what I could find which started with simple advertisements in magazines and clothing ads. I quickly learned to draw female figures using the ads and would draw them minus their clothing. When I was 13 I discovered fapping and have been trying to stop ever since. Later that year I discovered porn shows could be found on HBO late at night. I started sneaking downstairs and watching and recording it. A few years later once my family had internet access I took the next step to internet porn. I've made more attempts to stop than I can count. A few times I even made it out 30 days before falling back in to it. Well I've made the decision to get serious about this and put an end to this struggle. My goal is life long freedom, I'm setting my first goal however at 90 days. I think it will help to have an attainable goal in my sights and then continue on from there! Honestly I wanted to lurk in the background just reading here for the encouragement and that worked for a while, before I hit a 30 day mark and finally made the mistake of letting my fantasies creep back into my mind, at that point it was only a day or two more before I fell back into fapping and then porn followed shortly after. So now I am making my first post. I know from past success that accountability is a huge help and I'm hoping the accountability of others struggling with this will be the help I need to free me from this struggle! I think it will also help knowing that I can be an encouragement to others. I can say seeing others success has been an encouragement to me, knowing it can be done!
