A browser-based P blocker is a helpful deterrent for me. It makes it easier to avoid triggers. But I still have a problem with facebook, where particular friends (and especially their photo pages) are still huge triggers. I don't want to block these people from my feed because they are my friends, but it would be really helpful if there were a more selective way to block some of their photos. Is there an easy way to block certain facebook photo pages without blocking facebook altogether? I guess I might try to write a greasemonkey/tampermonkey script if nothing turns up, but I'd rather not reinvent the wheel with my shitty scripting skills if there is already a better solution.
Ok, I made a super simple-minded user script for Firefox or Chrome. It just hides the part of some user's photo page that contains the list of photos and albums (not the timeline or anything else), to deter you from browsing the photo page of friends that are PMO triggers for you. Here are the instructions to use it, in case anybody else is interested. 1. Download this file (or copy the text and save your own file) 2. Open it up and change each USERNAME to a friend's username from their fb page URL. Use multiple lines as needed. 3. CHROME: Go to Extensions and drag and drop the file into the window. or FIREFOX: Go to Add-ons > Extensions, click the Gear icon, and choose "Install Add-On from File" It's just a deterrent, but it helps me stay on task, as fb has proved to be one of my most difficult triggers.
