The amazing thing about abstaining from porn and probably the biggest benefit of all is that your worldview becomes highly intuitive. The most successful people are intuitive. Steve jobs said that logical thinking compared to intuitive thinking is insignificant. The reward for an intuitive revelation (something ur studying, ur job, or life in general) is a rush of dopamine. Geniuses live their life in a constant search for this dopamine. If u watch porn, the chemical is not there because uve exhausted it all leaving no room for u to get excited about accomplishments. I won a 2600 dollars coming in first place in a field of 80 people of a poker tournament and I got little to no excitement back before i even knew about nofap. The most effective method ive used, when i have urges, is i say to myself "struggle." and the encouragement that getting past an urge makes me mentally stronger and lowers anxiety. The average person is inherently weak.. work to go beyond normalcy. Btw intuition is a way of answering a question without using logic to get there. Its an instantaneous revelation that you feel in some part of your body mainly your chest that there is no way I can be incorrect. I just realized that the thread title sounds like porn dopamine is healthy. porn dopamine is unhealthy cuz its instant gratification and u did nothing to earn that reward causing u do be numb to the fact that putting up work to achieve that same reward is useless

There are no short cuts to something that is ultimately rewarding. If we believe in what porn offers us, which is instant pleasure/gratification we will feel empty inside, because we did not work towards something challenging. We need to improve our habits and increase our discipline to build towards something greater than ourselves. That is what porn robs us of. If we want to have a girlfriend, we have to work for it, the same is true with any other endeavor. We tend to want the easy way out. Short cuts, but truly there are no short cuts to something really rewarding. We need to see the examples of people like Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan, Beethoven and others to see that they got where they did, because of putting in the work.
