LGBTQIA+ porn is not any more “extreme,” “degenerate,” or “weird” than its non-LGBTQIA+ counterpart. Use of LGBTQIA+ is not a sign you have a pornography addiction, nor does it mean a pornography addiction is more severe than the addictions of porn addicts who don’t view LGBTQIA+ porn. Problematic pornography use is about how much porn you use and how it impacts your life, not the gender of the pornography performers you are viewing. According to the World Health Organization’s ICD-11, sexual behavior (which includes using porn) that doesn’t align with one’s religious views, moral judgments, or cultural expectations are not symptoms of compulsive sexual behavior. Using such pathological language to refer to LGBTQIA+ porn is not only inaccurate, but it reinforces prejudicial and bigoted ideas about LGBTQIA+ people. As an inclusive and welcoming forum, this kind of rhetoric is not permitted here. Any use of such rhetoric will result in the removal of your content and moderation sanction.

If your use of LGBTQIA+ porn is making you confused about your sexuality or gender identity, we recommend you connect with an LGBTQIA+ friendly therapist to talk about your confusion and doubts. We also recommend that you consider connecting with members of the LGBTQIA+ community within this community or other online communities to learn more about their own process of discovering their sexual orientations or gender identities and see if you can relate to their experiences.
