    Bingles 2023 relapse pi-chart:

This is a pi-chart of my relapses this year. It's not wholly accurate but it's a rough estimate. 30+ probably means it has happened too many times to count. And by relapse, it includes standard PMO but the definition here means simply looking at or viewing porn by accident or intentionally, or just lustful thinking.

I have kept track of every relapse and noted its causes, places, and timing. Most often it occurs during the evening and late at night and less so in the morning. 95% of the time in the bedroom, relapse occurs around the 3 to 4-day mark average, sometimes two weeks, then onto a continuous relapse streak for 2 - 3 times after until I get my strength and motivation back up. The average is skewed due to my three longer streaks without intentional PMO. The longest streak I've had is my current one of 48 days.

Bedroom, late evening and night, 3-day mark, caused by internet devices.

Knowing this criteria, I decided to take steps against that. For starters, I built up a busy and condensed schedule detailing every aspect of my day from morning until night. Give yourself no time to even relapse. Replace the bad habits with good ones, and become productive again. I started going outside more to avoid being in the bedroom in the middle of the day. I've gotten more used to my local streets and it has built up my confidence. To avoid relapsing around the 3-day mark in bed or at nighttime, I go to bed early at 9 O'clock without any internet devices an hour before bed.

Twitter is no longer an issue since I blocked it permanently and vow never to use that accursed site again. Reddit is tricky since it is a smug mid-wit sewer of a website, there are a few good communities that offer decent advice. But even on the regular sfw site there is uncensored content and all it takes to remove the settings is to push the yes button. So I've decided to block that too for a month until I build my streak up again. I replaced my old search engine (Duckduckgo) with Swisscows which is family-friendly and even better imo, with no relapses caused by the search queries or image searches since swapping over. Just remember to block other search engines when using it otherwise you'll go back and relapse to uncensored results.

The laptop situation has been fixed, I've configured all my devices with anti-PMO measures: TV has a random 4-digit password to access the internet browser (which I don't know). Removed Chrome from my media box and blocked the web store from within the settings. The only device that is rogue is my VR, Meta doesn't allow removal or parental safety features for VR so I've had to drain the battery and hide the remotes in the closet and bag. That remains the only major issue. My PC and laptop are both synced together with a combination of website blockers, which I will provide a list of below:

The way the system works is that you have multiple website blockers active at once so it takes too much time to disable or delete all of them, and you would regret doing so. Some block entire websites and other search terms and images. Combined with a safe web browser and search engine, this can be effective. You use Block Site to block the Chrome extensions page to disable, then use Stayfocusd to block the block the Block Site block page. It creates a paradox scenario where you can't unblock either of them. I know this is wildly impractical but it works for me. I haven't asked my ISO since I have other relatives in the house so this is my best option. The only worry would be in case the extensions get reset for any reason, but this can easily be fixed.

Another big annoyance is NSFW YouTube videos and playlists. You would think YouTube, having been around for nearly 20 years, would understand how to filter and block NSFW videos. Nope. These are impossible to bypass unless you find a way to block the search terms and URLs which is useless. Even your ISO can't get rid of them. Your best bet is to stay clear of rampant internet usage until around the two-week mark. Soon you will be repulsed and forget it exists. Your brain is mush and hardly working right now but I can promise you with absolute certainty that you WILL feel better if you just don't touch your weeny when horny. Sperm has so many minerals and chemicals essential to helping your body function. You must stay away from PMO.

Relapsing can be useful to learn from, and it's important to journal down its causes, where you were, the time, and judge how you could prevent that in the future. There are also lots of great forum posts here, videos on YouTube, and articles online that offer tips on how to overcome PMO addiction. If you're more tech-savvy than me then you can probably filter out stuff using Tampermonkey or other tech voodoo magic. This is just my method of doing things. Although I am ill, I am on 48 days and still going thanks to this method. If anyone has any tips or recommendations for bettering this system then please let me know. Keep going and good luck, happy New Year lads.

    A good video btw:

  3. Great advice @Bingles! Lately, I have realized the helpfulness of having a layered approach to blockers, as well as adding accountability. I also think you bring up a great point about YouTube; personally, I think I need to treat it in the same way as how I've treated Twitter and that is to ditch it completely.

Thank you for sharing your story and congratulations on your progress!

Cheers Fulton. The best option is to cut PMO from the source with as much aggression as possible. Lock it behind a lock and key behind a lock and key behind a lock and key. Might be a pain in the short term, but the cracks get tapered up and you become alert to your decisions and manage your urges better. YouTube needs serious reform, I see videos about others complaining about the *P* problem and they all agree. So until then, cut it from the source for as long as you could.

This is a screenshot from the video of the guys daily timetable, have something similar to this. Might take a while to tailor and tweak to your schedule needs but it works.

I’m currently on day 81-82. My longest streak was 700 days. I fasted and got rid of my laptop and put filters in on my phone and sold my TV to a pawn brokers shop. My streak broke cos I was sectioned in an asylum for arguing with psychopaths on my doorstep who thought that believing in God was a a mental disorder. And in the asylum they other patients watched overtly sexualised videos. It was the end for me in there. I pmo twice in there then went on a nofap a 5 month streak then broke out in October last year one slight pmo relapse and now on day 82. .. this time I got to win

    Pro-tip:

If you change your YouTube and Google accounts gender to 'rather not say' or 'non-binary', NSFW ads disappear entirely. It's odd but it works.

    Great stuff Bingles

Do you know of any good iOS blockers I can use?

The one I had the most out of was ScreenZen but I just automatically unlock it and wait out the 15 mins when I’m desperate.

I have AppBlock but it doesn’t work well unless you pay for it and idk whether I should tbh.

I can’t use the built in iPhone restrictions because I tried those, set a password and now can’t remember it.

I know youtube is huge but if you don't need it on your phone for school or work. remove it. I have switched it out for audio only podcasts. really helped. There are lots of podcasts to listen to ex. consider before consuming, porn reboot podcast, and many more.
