Looks pretty equally divided in terms of opinions so far.

I agree with those who say there should not be religious sub-forums. All of a sudden a lot of valuable content is going to be found in sub-forums and I would not want to sift through all that; in addition as Abel pointed out the main forum would become more devoid of religious content, and so it seems that one cannot post and get a response from an atheist, a Muslim, and a Buddhist, the discussion is going to get homogenous with fewer viewpoints expressed.

I do disagree with these current forum rules:
I think the prohibition should be on attacking religious posts or attacking secular posts. How can one say to refrain from posting things of a religious nature when for a seemingly decent number of posters, nofap is intertwined with religion? It should not be advised to make secular posts. This is placing secularism above religion, and both should be allowed.

I think we should keep it as is. Even though the strategies I might use are completely different from a Christian I can still find value in the content. I just get a bit scared when I here dogma and one eyed posts. It will never be perfect but it can always be simple and easy to use.

I think the current rules about religious dialogue should be reviewed to create more open discussions. Let's lean on the side openness, simplicity and compassion rather than rigid ness and complication.

I don't think the creation of religious sub-forums would necessarily move religious people out of the general forums, as long as it is clear that they are only for religion-related issues.

Where would you post a question such as "I had a wet dream, is it a relapse?" ? I would post it in the general section regardless of my religion, since it is a general question.

On the other hand, you can't talk about the fact that your deity appeared to you in your dream in the general section, because it might upset people from other religions, so why not have a section just for it?

Also, I want a patafarianism section.

    I agree with this.

I find it interesting how people of various faiths deal with porn

I absolutely agree with this. I myself am Christian but try to be respectful when I include any religious points of views or content in my posts on general forums outside of the Christian groups. I honestly learn equal amounts from both the secular and Christian sections. Respect and maturity is key when posting.

All lot of you disagree with this, why? How is it ruining anything. I'm a christian and have been dying to share what HAS HELPED ME WITH THIS ADDICTION to someone else that could greatly benefit from it as well. Please at least try it and see how it goes and if it doesn't help (it should) then I guess remove it. Please, give it a try and then we'll vote or whatever we can do to decide if its better or not.

Don't do what Abel said. Post in the open forum what has helped you with your addiction. Most Christians are not in the NoFap Christians group. Also, how about people of other faiths. It may well be that what has helped you is your spirituality not Christianity per se. It is well within the rules to post about what has helped you - don't be put off :)

What do you mean by "Religion Subforum?", Do you you mean "Christian?". Surely, if you are going to create a Christian section, it will only be fair to create a different section for the Muslim, Hindu, Budhist, Tao, Pagan, Jedi, JW, Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, Rastafarian, Moonie, and other religious people.

There is already a Christian nofap forum. Surely, if a Christian wants to get a Christian perspective he/she can always belong to to both forums. For me, creating a separate subforum just for Christians here will be a bad idea and will not help nofap.org in the long run.

I am also quite surprised that the Christians who are supposed to be light among us, are opting to ask for their own subforum and create their own world where they can be among themselves. The truth is, most of us are addicted because we have not learned to deal with the real world. We have used sexual release as a way of escaping from reality into our own bubble. We need to learn to deal with the real world and face the pain, challenges and difficulties head on. I fear that with the best intentions religious (Christian) people here may just be escaping from the real world in order to create their own. Perhaps, some of the language here may not be what you are used to on Sunday morning. But that's the real real world, which is a bit bigger than your Sunday congregation

Also, religious people don't agree among themselves either. While Protestant/Catholic believe that Jesus is God, JW believe that he is just a man, while Muslims believe that he is a prophet inferior to Muhammad. Some sections of Christianity view others as cults and pseudo-Christian. Before long, we will be having bitter disagreement about doctrines.

So, for me, a separate Christian subforum will be a bad idea. We need the Christians here to help us view the world in a different way and bring their contribution. We may disagree, but that is the essence of liberal democracy and they should not expect others to accept their views without thinking (and vice versa). I personally want to hear how Mr Jesus is helping some people here. Who knows, I might give him a call myself. But how can I if those who have his phone number have retreated into their little corner

I can see your point. But you have not addresses my main points:
    1. Not all religious people agree
    2. Having a separate subforum for Christians may trigger other religions to also ask for theirs
    3. We're better together than divided

While I agree with you that some-communities are good and that people have the right to do so I still think that in a place like this asking for a separate religious forum will not help the the wider community. The women's subforum makes sense to me and I see it very different to a "religious forum".

I personally do not think that those who are asking for a Christian subforum are doing so because of a lack of understanding of the rules. I think they just want to be with other Christians away from the rest of us. While they are free to do so, it is still best to unite rather than scatter
