Hey everyone, So my biggest weakness currently is when I come home from work and I'm tired and don't want to do anything. I just want to chill. All I feel like doing is nothing, and flopping on the couch or bed--BUT this often (if not always) leads to automatic behaviours or cues and/or urges to PMO. Often to make matters worse, my brain has been giving me urges all afternoon and especially on the drive home. Just wondering what others do when all they want to do is chill and do nothing, but also not give into old habits? I'm trialing walking when I get home immediately as a way to create a buffer between my urges and going inside, but I really want some downtime without ending up PMOing. So I'm curious to know what others like to do in this situation. Much thanks in advance.
I exercise or I play video games. Find a new hobby. Start replacing your bad habits with something else. Idle hands are the devil's playground. Don't let your brain marinate in bad thoughts. Find a way to distract yourself from it. You have to find some intrinsic reason for doing this.
You can focus on doing things without electronics, e.g. chatting with family / friends, reading books, listening to classical music, doing light stretching, meditate...etc. Find what feels right to you. Good luck!
When I have nothing to do, I meditate. In the past I would pmo every free time. But for the most people going outside is working.
