I am new to the Nofap community. I have been a life long PMO addict. I cant even remember what it was like not to binge on PMO. My marriage is almost finished. I am dead inside and cant feel anything for my wife or people close to me. I am going to give everything I have to the 90 day reboot. I will document my journey to recovery here on Nofap. Im glad this community is here. I look forward to sharing the journey with all of you fine people.
ATW504 welcome. Sorry to hear about the misfortunes you are having, but if you're here it means you are not happy of how low you've come and you want to do something about it and change. Good luck!
ATW504, way to show up! I am a life long addict also (since about age 12), have been in recovery for awhile and have grown tremendously, but I am relatively new to this site. It seems like there is much wisdom and encouragement here, as well as some good camaraderie. I am 46 and lost my marriage about 6 years ago, I think primarily because of my sex/porn addiction. Even after the divorce and knowing that my sex/porn addiction had contributed to the failure of my marriage, I still continued down that path. It was truly an addiction that we have to recover from. Hopefully it works out for you in your marriage, but there is always hope for growth and recovery, whether married or divorce. Life does go on. Hang in there. You may also want to see a marriage and family therapist that is familiar with this addiction that might be able to help you and your wife in your marital situation.
Hey ATW, we're the same age, and similar circumstances. I can honestly attest to two things: 1. Getting involved in this community has been a game changer in my fight against PMO. I'd encourage you to visit often, record your journey, but also to take time to encourage others. 2. My marriage is better than ever. To be fair, we weren't in a dire space, just a sustained 'not great' space. I've been clean for 50 days now, and find that with a clear head it's easy to be attentive to my wife...I've realized all the issues were on my side. I guess I'm trying to encourage you to take heart, you CAN have a future free of PMO and enjoying your marriage again. But you're fighting an insidious opponent, so you really need all the support you can get - so dive in here!! Strength to you, Godspeed Sojourner
