Why can't I leave it? I don't understand it doesn't make any sense. Now I don't even masturbate anymore, I just watch it and doing nothing. I feel so miserable. After like one week today I just watch porn again for like 10 minutes, although I been watching "soft images" all day... I'm going to use this as a diary, I need to improve and really escape from this.
How long have you been watching P, and how long do you typically watch for? What you're describing is exactly how porn affects the vast majority of users. It fks up your dopamine reward system until you finally reach a point where nothing is exciting anymore--not even porn--but you keep watching because at least it makes you feel something. Your brain can heal, but it requires stopping the behavior and struggling through withdrawl symptoms for a while. Have you considered installing a filter or blocker, and then handing the control of it over to a trusted friend? That has been a huge help for me.
Nofap was born as a practice against porn, not against masturbation, it would be healthier if you masturbated without porn than watching porn without masturbating, this is nofap.
It's mainly against P addiction but not only. It also includes other types of compulsive sexual behavior. You can set your own goals, abstaining from PMO, PM, P Curiously, the reason for my presence in this forum is trying to get rid of M...
"Masturbation of any kind, and orgasm of any kind, only creates addiction to sensations, lust, and a mind enslaved by desire." "Masturbation; From the Latin words manstuprare, from manus "hand" (as in manual) + stuprare "defile" (oneself), from stuprum "defilement, dishonor," related to stupere "to be stunned, stupefied" (as in stupid)." In our hearts we know this to be true, don't we? Still, how about taking things one step at a time and slowly weaning yourself off this destructive habit?
This is nofap https://nofap.com/about/ https://nofap.com/articles/nofap-is-not-anti-masturbation/ and also anti porn btw, the pages explain
On the contrary, it makes perfect sense, once you understand that you are dealing with an addiction, just as real and strong as drug addiction. Most of our willpower seems weak compare to it, that's why we need help to recover from it.
didn't say that compulsive masturbation is a good thing, I said that if you can masturbate after 80 days without using porn, this would be a positive thing for many. It also depends from the objectives that one has, I also practice total abstinence, masturbating only with the imagination is not in a compulsive way it is not something that is condemned in nofaps on the contrary it is a symptom of recovery I have good balance, especially mentally.
Try and get “feel good” chemicals into your brain from other sources such as exercise, hanging out with people, or jointing a club or religious group when you watch porn, you are flooding your brain with “feel good” chemicals… so when you are low on “feel good” chemicals, you turn to porn to soothe yourself and feel good this is why you can’t leave it.. because it feels good, and you want to feel good deep down, so you watch porn but try and feel good by doing other things. Over time, you won’t require such high amounts of feel good brain chemicals that you get from porn… and you will be happy with the good feelings from day to day activities
Thanks for the link. Well, you learn something new everyday. As far as I was aware, to "fap" means to masturbate, so "nofap" = no masturbation. How "foolish" of me to not understand my own native language! However, no matter what has been written, there is no such thing as "healthy" masturbation. Of course, as adolescents we are in a process of discovery, but to keep doing this deep into adulthood?
Yes, it's true, but the site don't consider occasional M to be wrong. That page says most nofap users think so... Anyways, here we have the option to abstain from M too. Btw, the reason for my presence in this forum is trying to get rid of M! Forever Oh, don't say that :-( I agree completely Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I wish you all the best with letting go of the m! If we say that occasional “m” is fine, then isn’t it like saying occasional stealing is fine, just don’t do it everyday?!
Freeze, fight, or flight? How about none of these strategies of avoidance? How about facing the self-created matrix within through self-observation and retrospection?
