Hi all, i've recently had a spate of relapses and can't seem to get past the 2 week marker. I've installed software on both my phone and mac that blocks almost all adult material that could trigger. However, YouTube is still a weak point, and i've already found enough on there to keep me occupied should I relapse again. Does anyone know of ways to filter YouTube? I know there is the restricted mode, but it's easily toggled on/off. I cannot block YouTube altogether as it will arouse suspicion amongst my friends/family, but hoping someone might know a way of blocking certain keywords??
Thanks for the suggestion Dragonaire. The problem is that I do like to watch YouTube for other pursuits, so it would be a shame to lose it altogether
K-9 Web Protection is a program that allows you to screen key words, which means you can leave YouTube unblocked but if you search a keyword or a keyword appears on a page or URL it will block the page. It also has a feature that can cut you off from the internet completely if you get too many blocked pages within a certain amount of time. The best web filter I've found.
Thanks all. Yep i've got K9 installed, however I do not have the password for it, meaning i cannot make any changes to the settings. It would be good to try and add an extra layer of youtube security if possible.
