I've noticed that whenever I eat something overly salty or sugary, my libido increases pretty strongly. I dont know why this is but I just wanted to let everybody be aware of this and try take notice of it.

Refined sugar (sucrose) is like a drug (IS a drug!) that is manufactured in the same way as other refined 'white powders' are so my guess is it will be giving you a similar, if milder, high etc? Either way it is a slow poison that is consumed by the truckload every minute of every day.

'Sugar Blues' by William Duffy is a great book if you or anyone interested in sugar and it's massive historical/health implications, including it's effect on the slave trade and the so called 'holy' inquisition- 'herbalists' were warning people of the huge dangers of the increasing consumption of white sugar and the terrible effects it was having on peoples physical and mental health and because it was by then a truly MASSIVE trade (business!) the church/government (which have always been bed-buddies) had to find a way of disposing of these 'heretics'!!

I remember trying to buy the plant stevia in England about 10 years ago because it is sweeter than sugar and is actually good for you only to find that Tate and Lyle (number one pushers of sucrose) had managed to get it banned via their connections at the House of 'Lords' (lovely bunch that they are, so glad governments are so loyal to those they are 'elected' to serve and not their own self-interests!!)

Don't know what it is with salt though (which is probably a relief;)!)Probably similar (as with any white refined product- flour, rice etc and I would urge anyone to do their own research on this)

Have you tried Hymalayan salt? Is widely available (for now!!) and is full of beneficial minerals etc.

And I'm sorry but I can't resist adding one of my favourite ever quotes...

“The lie tastes sweet at the beginning, but bitter at the end. The truth tastes bitter at the beginning, but sweet at the end." ~Buddha

Actually I'm always eating sea salt but I do really put too much salt in. I'm usaually really thirsty after a dish so I'm trying to cut down on it.

Regarding sugar I don't really eat much sugar. But when I do I sometimes end eating hell of a lot!

I always get so tired after eating lots of sugar. Maybe because I'm messing with my blood sugar level?

Don't why I feel that strong urge to PMO after eating lots of salt. Maybe I'm just trying to escape the irrebility I might feel due to my thirst?

Actually I sometimes also feel more anxious after sugary and salty foods. I think there might be a connection.

Only when I'm eating simple vegtables like cucumber, carrots, peas etc etc, then I feel all 'clean' inside after a meal.

Really interesting about what you wrote about white sugar, jiltedjohn.

Ok thanks, that's just the tip of the ice berg with the white sugar which really does have a shocking and massively supressed history (BIG business!!)

I'll tell you something else that changed my life when I first heard about it...

That quite often when we feel like we are craving something we are (quite simply) thirsty!!

And I don't mean for a beer (another poison!!;)) or a coke, coffee, tea etc. We are dehydrated because the vast majority of us don't drink good old fashioned (clean!) water!!

Its amazing how often we mistake hunger and all sorts of mood swings, cravings etc for simply being in need of that most beautiful and precious of liquids. The one we are 70% made of and which we really should be drinking 6-8 glasses of a day.

You know a study was done lately in an old folks home where people were always hungry, and grouchy, and ill etc and when they were given regular glasses of clean water (their ONLY previous liquid intake had been tea and coffee which is RIDICULOUS because they de-hydrate us!!) and within days there were massive improvements in mood, appetite etc, and within weeks illness had significantly decreased!

It seems so obvious when you think about it.

But we keep pouring shit down our throats and into our minds...

So do you think that when you get home really drunk from a night out and you want to PMO, it could also be the bodys thirst for water?

Whenever I'm drunk I don't really feel thirst. Even when I'm having a hangover I don't feel thirst but when I drink water it helps a great deal! It's weird that I cant feel my thirst but obviously my body needs water..

I don't know tbh? When I used to drink I never felt thirsty during or after which is weird yes as we are definitely dehydrated. And then there are the times when you are really thirsty and you make yourself a drink, your thirst disappears and then half an hour later you realise you hadn't actually drank the drink (only made it!) That's happened to me a few times!

I guess the point I was making was that our minds and bodies are fairly complex and as we don't always really understand the pros and cons of the substances we consume and the effects they have on us etc etc we can sometimes confuse the feelings we get for something else, possibly the most common being that people snack on junk food because they are mistaking thirst for a hunger pang which has become a habit and I can't help wondering what other areas we do that in:confused:

:D I bet I come accross as all putitan but honestly it just my age!;) If I'd have carried on living like I did when I was younger I would have been dead by now but I am, without a doubt, the most ANTI-smoking/drinking/junk food ex smoker/drinker/junk fooder on the entire fecking planet!!!;) Come to think of it, I wonder why I don't see any of my old drinking buddies anymore:confused:
